Duffy was acquitted, he actually paid it all back, the media dragged his name through the mud and constant attention (while Mac Harb, John Cannis, Judy Sgro and other scandals like Benjamin Levin got almost zero coverage)

    * Amazing his was 3X the amount and they just dropped the charges...

Very little coverage of Gerald Butts and his $127,000 moving expenses ...

Must be nice to be a Lib ... get paid 2X the rate and allowed to improperly expense stuff without concern if you do get caught.

So I would say he has a good case given the appearance of it, but hey he was a Conservative in a Liberal legal system, we shall see!

In my humble opinion, being acquitted in Canada does not always mean being innocent (in the true sense of the word) and actually not having committed the crime - it mostly means having good lawyers...
In the Canadian legal system here "not guilty" has nothing to do with "did not do it". Having Teflon(TM) coated skin also helps...
(As for "he actually paid all back": if he was innocent, what did he pay back and why?...) Just sayin'...

First, talk about the topic at hand. This is about Duffy. Not Trudeau, not Harb, not Cannis, not Sgro, not Levin, not Butts. Stop trying to muddy the water.

Duffy was acquitted of criminal charges. He still should have known better. His signature is on the documents which started this storm. He was the one who stated his residence was in PEI. He was the one who signed off on the expenses. The senate audit rejected his expense claims and told him to repay it and he couldn't. The PMO offered a plan to repay the expenses. At the time, he didn't balk at the plan, he didn't say the plan was wrong, he didn't say the PMO's pressure to take the deal was wrong, he didn't do anything which shows he was an innocent white lamb in this process that he now claims to be. No one ever put a gun to his head and forced him into anything he did. The rules he claims are so fuzzy aren't abused by the majority of the senate so why did he? He claims the PMO pressured him. Last I checked the PMO has never, ever had the power to make people do something they don't want to do. He may not have done something criminal but he sure isn't the white flower he wants everyone to believe he is.

Khadr was a terrorist assassin. Trudough cut him a $10 million cheque. Duffy was nothing but a pawn in getting rid of Harper. The money wasted prosecuting this doesn't get mentioned much. Hhhmmm.... . The Senate is full of lazy corrupt partisans from both parties, they all have dung On their expensive Italian shoes.

We need to elect ALL the Senators. There should also be a compensation fund for all acquitals that would go a long way to prevent "trial by process" with vexatious, frivolous and politically-motivated prosecutions for every Canadian citizen.

Are you saying that the media coverage was politically motivated with an agenda other than reporting the truth?

I think the media is way more dishonest overall, than Duffy. He is guilty in my book and should have NO place in any public organization.
Having said that, his criminality pales in comparison to the libs'.

Isn't "media" and "truth" an oxymoron ??
