Default Moose Camp Prep + Meals

Well it is the time of year where I am starting to get all my gear ready for moose camp. In addition to all the gear and everything I need to bring I am planning on bringing up a frozen meal we can reheat on top of the wood stove. Generally the meal needs to feed 7-10 guys and must be homemade and frozen, we make meals in large aluminum roast pans so we can place it right on the wood stove to thaw and heat through. The meals are generally burgers, lasagna, pasta casseroles etc... I'm thinking of bringing something a bit different this time and would welcome any suggestions or what do you guys bring for quick easy homemade camp meals ?

A pot roast is easy and most everyone likes them. Spaghetti of course and premade cabbage rolls always went over well with our gang.

I'll 2nd the pot roast! Simple n tasty. Throw in a pak of powdered onion soup mix, taters, carrots, onions and whatever else you want of a veggie. Little bit of water and let it simmer all aft. on the stove.
I'm sure there are better cooks on here that can offer a better recipe?

Don't forget the Sausage and bean casaroles. Make them big enough and you can feed a lot of hunters with excellent stick-to-yer-ribs food. Besides, the entertainment value afterwards is priceless.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

We are heading up after work today. This year I am doing 4 stuffed pork tenderloins (2 herb/garlic/cream cheese and 2 jalapeno/cream cheese) as well as the homemade rice-a-roni recipe from OOD and corn. I was going to do chicken wings (easy get raw chicken wings from Costco, boil them until cooked, freeze them, and then take them up and put into an aluminum pan with some sauce) but decided to go with the pork. Next year I will do the wings.

Deep fried turkey is a must at our camp, with all the fixins'.
Steaks are an easy meal as well. Stews, chili, BBQ ribs in a roasting pan with lots of sauce is easy as well.....one or two feeds of fresh walleye is a given.
No wonder I gain weight at moose camp !!

I also pickle spicy hot beans for the boys. This year a jar of asparagus is coming too to see if they like it. Next spring I am going to do a jar of fiddleheads to see how they turn out.
