If Trump can win in the US, I’d say Ford can win in Canada.

I disagree. The PCs have to make headway in Toronto to lead the next government. I think the vitriol for the Liberals and most left leaning policies in rural Ontario will trump any negativity Ford's name has in those ridings. The north will vote NDP as it mostly always has.
A big thing in rural Ontario is how the Liberals came in and overrode/ignored the municipal wishes for windfarms (especially in ridings not represented by Liberals). Couple that with the cost of electricity and how much the cost of living has increased in Ontario due to how the Liberals have governed and hammer home how the NDP won't be much different in governing with their left leaning policies and you keep those ridings.
Does Ford have work to do in rural Ontario? Yes. Absolutely. His brother's issues will no doubt be a big doubt in the minds of voters. However, he is not his brother. Rob Ford got elected on the message that Toronto taxpayer's money needs to be spent wisely and that is an extremely powerful message Doug Ford can carry into this election.

Unfortunately Monty McNaughton is not entering the race. Looks like Doug Ford is the only one in the race so far.

It would be funny to see Doug Ford at the Hill in session. Trudeau created elbow gate and Doug Ford would be a bull in a china shop. My worry with Doug Ford would lose his temper and hurt someone. No one likes an angry white guy. lol

Ummmm Rob Ford is dead. So him showing up at the Hill would mean the world has finally reached that zombie apocalypse.

Fingers crossed for Ford Nation. Ontario is in need of a leader who actually gives a damn about the tax payers in this province and how and where our money is spent...

Make no mistake,Doug Ford is nothing like his brother. He's a tough, smart businessman with ZERO tolerance for BS. He can be a tad abrasive at times, though, but,he's the type of person Ontario needs at this time in history. This province is right on the thin edge of a total financial collapse from years of McGuinty/Wynne bungling and corruption. Mr.Nice Guys ain't gonna cut it. Slash and burn, baby, slash and burn.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

How do you like the cost of living in this province? I'll vote for a leader who will take action against those who have been stealing our money for far to long, and one who will demand accountability from those who serve in provincial government

I would be surprised if Doug Ford could solve the cost of living in Ontario over one term. In fact the Liberals have gutted the manufacturing sector in this province to the point of almost no return. Hydro rates will not be coming down especially with the contracts that have been signed for the next 17 to 20 years for wind farms. I believe the corruption runs too deep for any honest hard working politician to make a difference without being turned to the dark side. I would expect more skeletons to be let out of the closet for both parties especially since no one else has come forward to run against Doug Ford. If Doug Ford is the only candidate the Conservatives can muster up it says allot about the party. Hard to find a squeaky clean candidate these days.

He can only do so much, I agree, but it has to start somewhere. Both of the Fords put a stop to the gravy train in Toronto, hopefully he can make a difference for the entire province.
