If your looking for new I recently bought a dogtra 1900 NCP. Also have the 2500 T&B 2 dog. Depending on your dogs temperament and the situation the "page" function, which is a vibration, can be just as effective a reminder as the "nick". I've been happy with it, and replaceable batteries as well.

I had one dog Dogtra, sold it, bought 2 dog Dogtra. I thought I liked it.
I had to send both units for repairs. I am not a fan anymore.
The design is kinda wrong, if I push C button while the remote is on a clip in my pocket, my grip sometimes turns the remote off (the OFF button is opposite the Cont. button).
I bought Sportdog and I love it. I dropped the clip the first time out and I was worried about the design (it's on screws on Dogtra, but a snap-on with Sportdog), but it hasn't happened since.
