Starting in 2019, the tag will only need to be attached to the animal if it is no longer accompanied by the hunter (i.e. if it is being transferred, or if it is unattended). This means you don’t have to put the paper tag on while bringing the animal out of the bush if you are always with it

Yes but you still need to properly punch the tag, which I'm pretty sure this guy didn't do

The increasing cost of licence/tags will convince some people to illegally increase their harvests. Even though us ethical legal hunters follow the law, I regularly hear its not worth the cost of tags vis a vis the cost of a turkey.

I stopped hunting turkeys for the last couple years, I was not going to be able to put enough time in to actually hunt them more than a day or two, so a huge waste of money for someone dealing with a wife on mat leave and a new baby, now toddler. It may not be a big deal for many but it can be big for some.

I know what you mean about people poaching rather than buying a license, it is a balance similar to taxes on smokes. When the taxes went through the roof on smokes the illegal stuff sold like crazy.

I just bought a deer license for my self and outdoors card, small game, sport fishing and deer license for my wife last night, $300+ in total, at least my license does not expire until the end of next year.

Where does all that money go Fox?

I wish it would all go to enforcement.

With Jeff Yurek being appointed as Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry now, the money should go where it belongs.

Getting back to the dude that got touched up for shooting two birds in one day.....
I've always disagreed with that particular point. If you can purchase 2 tags,, and you do and have them both in your possession , what's the MNR's rationale for only allowing a bird a day??
I'm sure there will be lots of opinions why, but never heard the MNR's version.

I agree with you on that and I'll raises you 2 more questions. Why not make the unused spring tag also good for the fall and the other point to ponder in essence you can purchase 3 tags a year so why not make all 3 good for the spring hunt too?
But until the rules change follow them or be subject to the fullest extent of the law.
