Yeah I don't think we want boar up here, all the damage they cause. Most likely move the deer out as well. Let the Southerners keep their problem. I hear there is no way to keep them out of a field or anything else.

Another person who does not understand the damage they can do. I wonder if the farmers that let you hunt know of your opinion on wild pigs?

My option on pigs is relative to how much of a nut bar the farmer is. My willingness to spend my money and free time to protect your crops is directly related to your option of hunting.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Wow, there have been reports of late, even a mention in the last issue of OOD. I would not mind harvesting some wild boar but the preference would be not to welcome anymore destructive invasive species to the province.

During this last election campaign I heard of a number of city hunters who specifically said they "did not give a s*** what farmers and rural people thought", this opinion on hogs being welcomed runs right along those same lines.
You go out and ask to hunt on a property maintained and operated by a farmer, he does not get a dime from you for letting you go out there and hunt and in a lot of cases has to clean up the mess from hunters, yet people come on here and welcome the destruction of the wild pigs because they have no understanding of just how bad it will be when they get here.
Farmers are not rich, farmers are in massive amounts of debt and work 24/7 365 days a year so survive and many take on a second full time job on top of that. I am sure that these farmers would love to know the real opinions of the people they are letting use their land for nothing.

Are you talking to all hunters from the "city" or just one in particular?

Earlier in the thread one post was welcoming wild pigs, obviously not a farmer, I wondered if the farmers who let him hunt know how he feels about an animal that will destroy everything that they are.
There are many hunters that have no clue about what it is to be a farmer and feel entitled to use the farmland as they see fit, heck, I have a friend who lost it on a farmer because the farmer asked them not to deer hunt until after they had their shotgun hunt, my only response to him was that he should borrow $1 million and buy a farm, then seed it and maintain it so that he can have exclusive rights to hunt it.

He does paint with a pretty broad brush.
He also does not read english very well, or he reads what he wants to see, not what you write.

Well I dont think you have met most hunters, as in any group there are some rotten apples but in general I have found the complete opposite. Most hunters I have dealt with are very respectful of the farms and to the farmers that own them they hunt.
I personally hunt 2 farms, and always help the guys out around the farm when I am up at different times of the year. I share my meat should I be successful and always drop off a gift basket for the family at Christmas time.
I think painting every hunter from the "city" as bad people and ignorant is wrong and completely incorrect.
P.s. I would love to hunt wild boar but most certainly not at the cost of all the damage they do to not only farms but natural habitat as well.
