New Bowhunter question on license/seal purchase
How does a new bowhunter acquire a license and seal for the rest of 2018? No longer available in store, and when an account is created online there is no option available to buy a license/seal. Why would they cancel all big game sales in the middle of what is likely the largest hunting period of the year?
thanks,

They sent out many notices early this year that sale of all game tags had to happen before Nov....
They are implementing a NEW tag system for 2019 so no more sales in 2018.

Thanks Mike, we read all that when using the online system. Non licensed hunters would not have received this info. I did not. They shut down sales half way through the largest big game season! Anyone else on this forum trying to bowhunt the rest of the season?

I still have 2 tags left. I believe they open it up again before the year is out but not 100% sure. It should be on the MNRF web site. If you just got your license then guess you are out of luck. I would have thought your instructors would have told you what was going to happen.

You can not even go to Bass pro, Canadian Tire or any other outlet and purchase a deer license

It sucks for new hunters. Why couldn't they have updated the system after the new year when there's a good gap between hunting seasons? That may have made too much sense though.

You are talking about the MNRF....!!! “Making sense” is not in their vocabulary !!

Saw some info on a Facebook group that may help you. Some farmers were complaining to Bob Bailey, the Sarnia-Lambton MPP, about not being able to get their farmer's tag because the system is down. He said there is a work around in place with the MNRF. Apparently it works for non farmer tags as well, according to people who have used it. You need to call 1-800-387-7011 for instructions and select the option to speak to a live representative. Hopefully this will work for those in need.
