    Default Data plans

I'm curious to hear what others are paying for their phone/data plans, specifically with Bell Mobility?
I live in a rural area without any high speed available, so I tether my phone to the laptop to get Internet. No Netflix for us! I could probably get a turbo hub set up for a better data plan, however I travel quite a bit for work and need the phone option/plan.
Presently, I'm paying $85/month for 12 Gb, unlimited can/us calls, etc.
Bell is notorious for not letting existing customers know about better options unless it involves huge increase in costs, so curious to find out from others what set up they might have?

Sorry I can't help you out... I have no data plan but do have internet at home....
That thing about retention that Rick mentioned, usually does work
"Everything is easy when you know how"
"Meat is not grown in stores"

I'm with Rogers but I'm in the same situation you are in terms of rural.

One cell phone with 2Gb dataand unlimited talk/text/long distance.....$50 plus tax
One sierra hotspot with 5 Gb data ........ $40 plus I had to buy the hotspot ($300 with a 3 year life expectancy) I use it at the cottage so I also need the portablility.

    No streaming here!!

Sounds like I'm getting hosed by Bell, $95 for 2 gigs and canada wide calling. Only way to get a new phone at the time though without paying the big price tag.

That's a pretty good deal you have. I pay 70 bucks for unlimited everything (10 cents a minute to states) and 5 gigs, and that's with Bell.

I've never heard the department referred to as "retention", I have talked to the "loyalty" department. Same thing I suppose?

Yes, I suppose it is, compared to some of the plans I've heard about? My current plan is called the "NorthWest Ont BYOD 75" I got this over a year ago after talking to the bell "loyalty" department and threatening to cancel. They magically came up with this offer? LOL Troubling part is that this particular plan was currently in existence at the time, but of course it was never offered, I had to fight for it! Thats the reason I posted this thread, in hopes someone might have a better plan that I can take bell to task on.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Bell, has always been like that, the plans are out there but you are not told about them till you threaten to go to a competitor and then they say "well we can put you on such and such a plan , or possibly you qualify for this other plan blah, blah. "
Then after a lot of explanation you can finally settle on a better less costly plan, which they should offer at any time instead of going through all the b.s.

They just upgraded the plans. I think you can get 12 GB for around $100 a month. I don't get US long distance though ... I have to enquire about that.
