Finished and ready for the range

I'm not a big fan of the patch box on flintlocks so it's nice to see a beautiful rifle without one.
Very nicely done.
I hope she shoots those .54 balls well..

They served their purpose in those days, you always had some greased patches handy.
PATCHBOXES- While the patchbox was originally a handy receptacle in a rifle stock to carry a supply of greased patches, as time went on – other things including percussion caps and gun tools, eventually found their way into a patchbox.

Hi Mike, I have a brass Jacob Dickert patch box but I just couldn't see cutting a big hole in that lovely wood. I am also not a fan of too much brass junk. I also am too shaky to try any fancy carving. Thanks for the compliment.........................Daniel
