    Mr. Fox, I wouldn't call a 235 75R 16 a "tiny tire" the difference in size from a 265 70R 16 is minimal......................Daniel
It's not the mountain ahead that wears you out, it's the grain of sand in yer shoe.

It is when you are running tires like these Macho type , " 31 ATs for the winter and 33 MTs "

That is well below stock, with a pre-runner pickup you are getting the pumpkin a significant distance closer to the rocks when going down a logging road for a fishing trip or going in for a load of wood, the Toyota diffs are not small.

Ha ha ha ha ha, you think a 33in tire is large.

Thanks Jaycee for your usual "useful" commentary, much appreciated.

OP said "Well, for starters my truck is 18 years old and I don't use it much and not at all off road", so the above is pretty much irrelevant.

    FYI

    2018 Chevy 1500 2WD runs a 32in tall tire stock
    2018 Dodge Ram 1500 runs a 32 - 33in tall tire stock
2018 Toyota Tundra runs a 32in tall tire stock

Well, according to the guy(Daniel) that owns the truck, all he's looking for is a decent set of cheap tires, that fit and will work, seems to me he found em

Yes he did, and I responded with the comment below, essentially saying I know exactly where he is coming from.

"You have good reasons to mount those up, I tried to fit 15in rims on my old runner so that I could mount Jeep tires on it, at that time 15in Jeep tires were a dime a dozen.

Who has the tires? Do you know them? There is a DOT code on the tire, search that and make sure you are ok with the age of the tire, you can run older tires safely but you need to know before you think they are "new" when they are actually 15 years old, just know what you are getting. "

Yes a 29in tire is a tiny tire on a rear wheel drive pickup if being used in the bush, they get hung up, that is why nobody sticks with stock tires on their Jeeps, you can run 31s with stock height if you adjust the steering stops so that you do not clip the leaf spring, this is on a YJ.

You guys really need to rear the whole thread, I agree with him, been there myself but there are limitations to the shorter tire.
