Are you aware that there's no law that dictates stores are required to even have a "return policy" for any product they sell? "All sales final" and "Caveat Emptor" are the only rules retailers and consumers need to follow. Anything else is a bonus.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

While your statement may be true Trimmer21 I was following CTC's return policy. I just think it unfair that I don't get another 90 day grace period on the new unit. What if it was made the same day as the last one and it goes kaputz too within 90 days ? I'm out 30 bucks and my only recourse is to take it up with the manufacturer ? Manufacturers selling goods in Canada must by law warranty their product for one year from point of sale.

If that's the law, why are some goods only warranted for 90 days or less?

Boy you can sure tell the weather is terrible and everyone is on their computer!
Best advice I can give is to shop locally whenever you can and from long tenured businesses. They are used to taking care of their customers. Saving a few bucks is not always the best long term solution.

I think he may be talking the extra warranty. You can buy an extra longer warranty at the sale of the purchase if it is offered.
All stores and products are different on the returns and warranty like mentioned.
We had a new Keurig stop working 3 days after the purchase. A quick email and was a sent a new one within a few days. No questions asked .

I bought an oscillating tool from CTC not too long ago. First one burnt out after warrantee was up. While doing some drywall work in the basement I hit a hidden nail and snapped the linkage inside. The tool had about 10 minutes of time on it. Danged if I could find my receipt so I had to bite the bullet and fork out for a new one--again!
So, DO NOT LOSE YOUR RECEIPT.
