Awesome ending to Quinte Walleye trip
I have been fishing the Bay of Quite since I was a 3 year old and this past weekend was some of the best fishing I have ever had. My son, son in law and future son in law stayed at Sunset Cabins and Farm in Northport, near Big Island. My son came Thursday night and we were able to catch a couple of nice Walleye, 18 & 17 inches . Friday we caught a couple more but the action was Good Friday night once everyone was at the camp. The rookie caught a 25 inch Walleye for his first ever Walleye! 4 more over 20 inches caught that evening. A great start!
Saturday morning got was slow with 2 caught by me. We were all on the water by 6:15 pm and the action was incredible. My first fish was a 25 inch Walleye, then a 22 inch. The rookie caught 4, ranging from 21 to 25 inches. The other 2 guys caught 5 in short order with one getting off the stringer. The amazing thing is that all of these fish were caught within 200 yards of the camp.
A truly memorable trip!!

Is that a typo...or was it better fishing at sunset ?
I love early spring fishing for Walleye/Pickeral, but we haven't been out on the swollen Rideau River yet so not sure what to expect. It's been fast flowing for a few months now, very murky.
Congrats....should taste great !!

We started fishing at 6:15 pm and I caught the first Walleye within 10 minutes. Evenings always seem to be better.
