    Default Independence Day

In the U.S. today we celebrate Independence Day - when the citizens of this country took up arms to throw off he yoke of a unjust king - if the citizens didn't have guns it would have never happened - that is why there is such a strong gun culture in this country - an armed citizenry is a free citizenry - don't ever forget that -

Happy 4th,Joe. Sadly,Canadians have no concept of that.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Not to the same extend as the US but Canada did revolt against the British for our freedom, 1837-1838.

Nope, not the same thing by any stretch. Armed skirmishes only led to the establishment of The British North America Act which was in no way, shape or form a "war of independence" from the Crown. Huff and puff all you like, but,Canada is still under the rule of Britain and Elizabeth II.

Fine, I guess we don't need to have a country based on war, that is ok with me.

We did rebel, there were a bunch of them, they ultimately lead to Canada becoming a country in 1867, we are part of the commonwealth but there is no actual power, none at all.

Thanks for ZERO constructive input. Typical of most of your posts. Go back to sleep, now.

Ya - he sounds like a guy with a big problem - I know he got hostile towards me when I expressed my opposition to gay marriage some time ago - it doesn't take rocket science to figure why - I hope he doesn't fall as he tiptoes through the tulips -

T21.... that is why this forum is dying, guys like you, who seem to know everything, shouting down any dissenting opinion. Your input is no more valuable than anyone else, no matter what you think. A lot of internet bullies on this site.
