first time on forum hope I get it right. Talk to reformed criminals. They want bans on firearms in place. They do not follow rules except there own and want to destroy society for there own benefit. If governments want to get it right they need use tax dollars to help improve family life, promote education, provide safe places were kids can grow-up to see the good side of life. Learn to fish and hunt could save your life living in the country and you would not have time to rob a bank or hurt someone you would be to tired fishing and hunting enjoying outdoor sports.

Common sense says you can not tell the difference in sound between a .22lr rifle or pistol or 44mag pistol or rifle so who will know if you keep your yap shut?....I wouldn't want to get caught transporting with out an ATT though that would be bad news....
The last handgun hunting season I believe was in 1973 and it was only with the help of OFAH that the government banned handgun hunting......Which started the slippery slope of useless gun control we slid down over that last 37yrs.....When they banned hunting with handguns it gave the anti's the argument they use still to this day "no one needs handguns its not like you can hunt with them".......If handgun's were still legal to hunt with and were still non-restricted like in 1969 we would have none of the BS "we know whats best" nanny state firearms laws we deal with today thanks OFAH.
Now fast forward to today and the OFAH has realized they screwed up and divided their membership they lost huge amounts of members over that and have slowly started getting them back purely because of their stance on the long gun registry. If the OFAH was smart they would get on side with the hunting organizations out west and started pressing the government to allow ATT's to be issued for hunting purposes so the MNR can instate new hunting seasons specifically for handguns.
I don't own handguns specifically because I can't hunt with them rather spend money on guns I can take to the field. But if we got new hunting seasons for them I would be the first inline to buy one I upgraded my pal to the RPAL just in-case this ever happens.

Mr Harper had back to back majority governments that the gun lobby helped give him, I would have thought all your wishes would have been granted by now.
Oh well we are back to sunny ways. LOL If you had taken the time to read some of the other informed posts you would know by now these restrictions have been in place since the 1930,s.

In 1913, the Conservatives increased the potential penalty for carrying a handgun outside the home or place of business without a permit to three months. In the early 1930s, the Conservatives provided that handgun permits could only be issued on the grounds that the owner needed to protect life or property, or the pistol would be used at a shooting club. The punishment for carrying a handgun without a permit was also increased to up to five years
'In 1934, the Conservatives created the first handgun registration system.
All you rabid anti liberals really need to do some reading on what political party actually did the most damage to your gun privileges.Have a gander:

Yes and it showed that a registry does not work, so why did the Liberals try a registry and why is Quebec trying a third registry and why are the Liberals try to quietly start a third registry.

Yes that is indeed. But it was the liberals who parted the into 3 the category's in the late 60s . Non restricted, restricted and prohibited...
The conservatives only regulated since every teenager had a handgun . The use of it was getting out of control and they simply made it a bit harder and to know who had a weapon.
The liberals prohibited and made the handguns fall into the registered there for they took even more of rights away.
Nothing wrong with regulating things when it gets outta control.
But taking the right to own something that is within our rights is just dirty and predictable liberal move.
