Not so fast! The Australian and New Zealand models have no affect on the criminal element. No matter which way it's "spun",there's no denying the fact. Using their model,semi-auto,pump and lever action shotguns and rifles are the first to go which make up almost 90% of the gear that legal,law-abiding firearm owners use.

If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Well not so fast there fella, we have had scores of coroners inquests over the years with legal gun owners shooting their spouses with their hunting guns, that,s a fact and that led to all the provisions in the firearms act with respect to spousal notification REMEMBER THAT LITTLE BOX YOU HAD TO FILL OUT.We have also had plenty of legal gun owners who acted as STRAW PURCHASERS to make a few bob selling legally acquired guns to criminals YOU CAN GET ANY NUMBERS OF ARTICLES ON THE NET ABOUT THIS FACT.
I am not getting hassled by anyone and I am totally surprised YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW is getting hassled, perhaps you can give us a few stories we can verify, you know these days with FAKE NEWS you can never be to careful.
I think the Australian and New Zealand models do have an effect on criminals as they have less access to guns and without even researching I believe their gun abuse numbers are way down since their legislation was put in place.
With you little blurb "Socialism has an entrance and an exit.Vote you way in and shoot your way out" its surprising this terrible gun control system has not already broken down your door, confiscated your guns and locked you up in the Gulag. So to speak.
PS.[COLOR=#000000]Canada has one of the highest rates of suicides by firearms in the developed world.[COLOR=#000000] Eighty per cent of firearm deaths in Canada are as a result of suicide. Five hundred Canadians commit suicide with guns on an annual basis. Many of these are rural Canadians who use a perfectly legal and accessible long gun

As a Liberal gun huggers I hope it does not come to that but you know what happens when a lobby is unwilling to compromise. In a democracy if the majority wish it and as has been evident with those other two countries mentioned, modeled after Westminster we would follow the same path.
I guess as a Conservative gun hugger, I can't figure out why our current government does not have the guts, balls, smarts to fight crime instead of the law abiding people in this country.
Not sure about your countries history, but here in Canada our people fight and die in war for one reason, so that we can live in a free country.

My country would be CANADA and I don,t think I need to explain to you as a Canadian of Scottish/Irish background the numbers of wars and enemy killed for a free country. My father was a decorated tank commander who fought and was badly wounded in Operation Market Garden fighting to keep Canada free from Nazi domination.

Gilroy 600 shootings has only resulted in
https://toronto.citynews.ca/2019/01/...-homicide-map/
37 deaths by the gun in Toronto this and 400 injured.
The overdose death of Toronto was 300
Mostly white people. From April 2018 to march 2019
Just in 2019 resulted more overdose death's then by the gun. https://www.toronto.ca/community-peo...mation-system/
More overdose facts 450 overdose calls to paramedics march 2019 . So who is holding up the resources??several hundred calls a month in Toronto for overdoses
https://www.toronto.ca/community-peo...mation-system/
Suicide rate over 4000 in Canada last year
Including 9 officers. ? https://beta.ctvnews.ca/local/toront...1_4576291.html
https://www.thespec.com/news-story/9...st-responders/
More facts you say it is so hard in Scotland to receive a gun . Yet the stabbings and deaths are still a concern?? Same will happen here.
More facts that at least 120 gosht guns hit the streets last year in the gta from one manufacturer in Vaughn. The link is in the libs and a gun ban.
So you last subject has been to free up resources and doctors from the guns. But a bigger problem is the overall overdoses right. ?? Well what's the root cause of the overdose?? Probably fentanyl that is mixed other substances that are banned from being used in Canada. Its primary use is mixed in with the cocaine and heroin the heroin being the biggest. Hence the " the purp" purple herion is on the rise and can be found in almost all small towns and big . So the question is what's taking up more resources? The guns or a substance that is already banned from here?.

You know why our government don’t make the hard decisions to tackle crime? It’s because it’s much easier to get the public on board with fake facts and figures. They can’t tackle the problem head on. The Charter of rights and freedoms protects The poor ethnic community that are largely the culprits killing people in Toronto. The police officers hands are tied because of racial profiling.
It doesn’t take much of a brain (not speaking about you) lol. to realize who the problem criminals are. People see these gang members daily. The police know who they all are.
Stop the wrong black dude though, because he looked suspicious. He looses his job. Then you’ve opened an entire new s-storm that only carries bad PR.

Same as my grandfather was shot up pretty bad surviving the war. Only to suffer from a major heart attack during his sleep in the 90s .
Most can go back and relate to the wars either great grandparents or grandparents. We have many medals from the war from my wife's side. From pictures to medals, pins, notes, paintings and trench art. The uniform is in the museum cheers . Pretty interesting stuff I could sit there for hours looking, reading through the stuff every time we pull out the chest.

Has too much time on their hands
I seen this come up from 2010... Look at all the posts about the history and changes since then under the Current LIB/CON system of elections. What changed? Nothing but tweaks.
I was part of those hoping for change under the CONS. Quite simple gentlemen, nothing will change, or will just change enough to appease a voting block (cause that's what we are a voting block - "Firearms")
AS Patzeval point out back in 2010, it started with Trudeau Snr, it became enacted with the New Constitution signing in 1982. This couple with Orders In Counsel have allowed government to strip away our basic rights, Free Speech, Property Rights, and we the victims of these actions have become dependant upon the state to provide all those safeties and protections since.
I realized this several years ago, that neither CON/LIB/NDP/GRN parties have any desire to change this state ownership of your rights under the new Constitution and Charter - they benefit from power it brings them. It ensures all of our rights have been turned into privilege (we must ask for and pay a fee), subject to state approval, regulations, conditions and removal. What did I fight for, what did the veterans of WW1, WWII, Korea, Afgan fight for: privileges or what used to be a right inherent (now gone).
The hard-core Conservatives on this page will bash me for being Libertarian, but they continually support a party that has no interest in changing the power balance back to - free speech, individual rights and property rights, which are basic building blocks of a Democracy. It is where all freedom is derived from, individual rights and property rights, by having these inherent rights, the states authority stops at your door or land. This would mean be being able to shoot handguns on your land, build a home as you please (mud brick, live in your RV, while you cash build your {OMB Regs - stops you}, heat your home with seal oil from clubbed seals of the coast of NFLD - if you choose) You see after 2.5 generations of social engineering of our children have they accepted "State Authority" as a good thing and the "state" is responsible to provide all to me - free housing- lower cell costs- carbon tax - Public Education (indoctrination to state subservience) ect, ect.
IF we don't demand change - then I will revisit this post in 9 more yrs and copy and post this reply again... (that is if gun forum are still allowed)
