We saw hundreds this past Saturday, flying northward, but very high., all Mallards and very noisy.

Bunch of geese around here now as its warmed back up and water opened up.
300+ on two cut corn fields but I cant get permission!! Land owners aren't local and big cash crop farmers rent it.

My comment was in jest! I'll be shooting them until January 11.

This is my favourite time of year, especially hunting public land / water. This is when the time behind the wheel really pays off, things change daily. Makes Success that much sweeter.

Hey do you hunt duck in that area. Fairly new to hunting and went with some Outfitters last week and loved it. I crushed my first goose, would really like Duck. Erin is a fairly close drive to where I am. Feel free to PM me.

Ducks are finally showing up here in good numbers. Had a good run just over a week ago after the thaw. Pulled the boy out of school and we got 9 green heads, 1 hen (oops) and 2 blacks in a flooded corn silage field. Slowed down a touch since but it will return.
Hit long point the weekend before for an afternoon hunt. Got there at noon, 14 in the re-rent ahead of us and only 2 empty blinds. We hit one of the empty ones and got our limit and a goose. Only expected to get a couple but lots flying that night.
Our best hunts are between now and the new year for mallards and geese.

Good job. Communicating with a member on here to work around my work schedule so I can get my first duck. Good to know that a bunch are still around.
