In my initial post #30 the first thing I stated was my experience with a crossbow.I do not think the OP was posting to impress anybody, merely pointing out how good a unit this is and the success he has had.I am not going to judge the man but I am pretty sure that even after the majority not approving this shot the OP knows his own skill set and will probably pull off another clean kill at this distance in the future.Nothing wrong with offering words of caution in any event.

I went back and read post 30, forgot you had said that now that we're 80-something posts in.

I have to disagree on whether or not he's here to impress. His post on shooting 5 deer himself while using his family members' tags because "he had the better spot" said enough.

Shoot one or two, then offer up the spot to someone in the party who hasn't had a shot opportunity yet. A tag hog will find himself without hunting buddies in short order.

That is what must have happened to me I shot five deer on my camp,s tags and those hunters are no longer hunting with me.But all is OK the camp is still running and I am still shooting deer.None of my hunting buddies refused their share of the harvested animals that I shot on their tags.

I agree with GW11, after a couple deer change things up. Don't get me wrong, Ive seen guys shoot multiple deer at camps but after one or two they don't get to pick the spot but sometime deer just go to them.
Pretty sure if the OP keeps shooting at this distance he will make a bad hit if he hasn't already, unlikely he'll start a post about it though.

Ouch. So you're "that guy" and don't see a problem with it. That's great for you.

I guess I'm at the stage in my life - and I'm not that old - where I figure that setting up someone else to shoot a deer is a more meaningful challenge than just going and shooting one myself. Sure I like shooting deer - but there are more rewarding parts to the hunt than whacking and stacking. I see there are a few on here - Line052 aka Mark Snow and others - who get that - and they are the guys I look up to.

Oh I think you take my post a little out of context I was talking about one single hunt season but there have been many over the last 25 years where much has been done for others. The first fact that the land and camp was opened up to others at No Cost to them might be important to note. There have been two or three new hunters both in age and experience that had been given the best seat in the house to harvest their first whitetailed deer. There have been new neighbors where I hunted on their tag,s in the last few day,s of a season where I shot a deer for them and gave them the entire animal.

This generosity of spirit was learned from a fellow hunter who had done the same for me starting out on my big game hunting career,so please don,t judge me because you really do not know me.

I did not say I expected them to refuse their share, merely pointed out that they were happy to get their share.Just as I am sure the party hunters with the OP are happy to get their share.

BTW do any of you hunters expect a fellow hunter who is in the right place at the right time to simply give deer a pass when they could be harvested and fill some of your freezers?
