For a natural solution our dog gets a tsp of brewers yeast daily mixed in her food and we never have an issue with fleas. It can also be mixed in water and sprayed on and brushed in on the coat to get rid of any existing ones.

    Cheers

Get rid of the cats, since we have had no cats around for years, there is no flea problem with any of our 3 dogs , or our daughters 2 dogs.

You should be worried about ticks . It has been unusually warm this winter. Ticks only need a bit of green grass.
I use Nexguard (fleas and ticks) and Nexguard Spectrum ( fleas, ticks, mosquitoes(heartguard) ) starting in April.

This Poster is in New Brunswick, the weather is much different there than here in Ontario.

If you don't want to start your flea &a tick treatment this early in the year, if you google flea control - flea comb dipped in dish soap, flea shampoo and follow up with a flea spray. Rather than the flea spray I would use a Seresto collar.

If you can get to the border (unfortunately not available yet in Canada but can be found at Petco, PetSmart, etc in the US) Seresto collars from Bayer - are very good and after treating with comb and shampoo would have them wear the collar thru at least one flea life cycle to ensure you got them all.

As to the other .... no more visits unless they clean up their dogs!

Nexgaurd. No more fleas & ticks. You can order it online from Canadavet.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.
