Hi Jeff..this is my basic set-up. I have about 400 acres here to hunt and that gets me into most off it. Whether hauling in tree stands or hauling out kill it works great. Light enough to be able to lift the back end out of deep ruts and with that Otter sled, it floats so it's easy to haul across swampy areas etc.
I also have a small 3'x4' wheeled trailer that handles great back there during the summer months. It's small enough I can still pull it out of tough spots by hand if need be.

edit add: I use the Big Red to head out back to hunt. I have a few 'bays' along the way that I can back this into and head the rest of the way in on foot. I usually don't go closer than 300 yrds to where I hunt. I also leave the recovery sled back in the bush during hunting season so if I need it I don't have to come all the way back to the farm to get it.

2007 Honda 350TRX and Kodiak boots. ATV gets me into the area, boots put meat in the freezer.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Nice toys boys.......a well needed distraction. Always wanted a quad but could never justify buying one - yet!
All my hunting (turkey, deer, bunny and coyote) is done on foot. The longest walk from my truck to where I hunt on any of one of my farms is about 1.2kms (my prime turkey killing grounds). Our tree stands (11 of them) vary in distance, with the closest one being about 250 meters, and the longest being about 850 meters from where we park our trucks.
Now we have access to a quad/trailer to maintain our set-ups - distributing salt licks, hauling chain saw for clearing shooting lanes, setting up blinds, ect. The land owner uses his John Deer and a bush hog to clear trails in the the bush to get in and out of the stands easily and quietly. When a deer is down we only need to drag it to he closest trail where we can zip by with a quad and trailer to pick it up and take it to the barn for skinning.

If I need to get way back, my old ATV still carries me. She ain't pretty but she goes. We call her the chubby one, fun as heck but your friends will laugh if they see you on her.

Riding the chubby one is much better than walking.

Here's my 2017 sierra. My old man calls it the dead stock truck haha.
I'm lucky I didnt have forensics team out investigating my truck. Real mild day had it parked at work, all winters worth of blood was leaking out. This is in Mississauga lol

Looks like mine....a little bit of blood sure spreads out lots in the slush !!!
My neighbours have grown to accept it !! Lol
My rig is a 2003 Argo Bigfoot. It’s used for ice fishing( except this year), and pulling out moose. I got it the year after we flipped a bike over backwards, pulling a big bull. No worries now !

Honda foreman and the otter sled for retrieval. Everyone walks for hunting season unless they have a medical/age issue.
