roughly between 1/2 hour before sunrise till 7:00 pm
. Any time is a good time when you can get out. Have yet to have a turkey arrive at an agreed upon time. Figure out where the birds roam, pack a cold drink, snacks, and thermacell and have at it.

What finsfurfeathers said, especially about the Thermacell, if you could take only one thing besides a loaded gun, call and decoy, the Thermacell is it....Skeeters were in full force this morning, was out with a buddy and set up 15 apart, my Thermacell kept me bug free, the poor devil got his bird fairly quickly thank goodness, not sure how long he would have lasted without a Thermacell... He had bug spray on, I had spray and the Therm and no bugs for me...
Good luck to anyone still out there...

First multiple bearded bird for me. Between poison ivy, a thunder storm, heavy rain, mosquitoes and black flies, if i didn't have a flock of birds in front of me I wouldn't have lasted five minutes.
Unfortunately, I lost a lot of beard with the shot and in hindsight should've taken better care getting it back to the truck.
I started off with the longest beard to date(almost 12") but by the time I got pics, I manage to reduce it to 7". LOL
Beard=7"
Spur=3/4"
Additional beards= ? not sure how many you'd count.

Thanks GW11.
They're the clearest ones I have Lenny, score it however you like. It's all good.
Unfortunately it's just a skeleton of what it actually was. Pretty neat beard.
