The best turkey gun is the gun that fits you and feels comfortable. All things being equal I think the Rem 870 SPS Turkey is a better made gun - I like the fit and finish and the pistol grip is very comfortable. Accessories for this shotgun is endless as there are something like 10 million 870's in circulation.

Get what you like and tweak it to make it better - aftermarket choke, good sling, sights, ect......

I don't need a new turkey gun but I now want a new one.

Express Super Mag 12ga and Express 16ga here, the 16ga is a rare bird, heavy because it is on a 12ga frame but I can shoot steel through her.

I have not liked any Mossbergs I have shot, they rattle a lot and feel sloppy to me. The fastest shooting pumps I have every shot were Winchesters, a 1300 12ga and my wifes 20ga 1300, very fast and smooth, too bad they are not made anymore.

The 870 Express is not as polished as the wingmaster and there have been a few production problems with chambers noted. I bought a 28in barrel cheap on CGN, would extract low brass shells, I had to polish the chamber but after that it ran great. Been using that shotgun for 18 years or so, had the ejector break on it but there had been thousands of rounds through it before then and it has been hunted with in all conditions. The parts are cheap, easily replaced, everyone works on them and tons of aftermarket, would not buy a different one, unless I could get a wingmaster

I've thought many times of replacing my Winchester 1300, but in all honesty, I cant find a good enough reason to. It just fits and fires too well to replace. I'm kind of a if it's not broke dont fix kinda guy
    This isn't a test run................Enjoy er'.......

The 1300 is a sweet shotgun, no need to replace it, too bad they do not make it anymore.

I was working overseas watching CGN and found a 1300 in 20ga for my wife, bought it while there, ha ha ha. I found a smoothbore slug barrel for it too in Sudbury. If you point the gun up and hit the release the gun will open half way, amazing.
