Not surprising. Just add them to the list of douchebags who fake medical certificates to park in handicapped spaces, beg for a doctor's note to take their poodle on a flight, fake an injury to get workers comp or claim imaginary medical conditions to not wear a mask.

I do feel bad for the front line people who have been told by their employer to inform and help enforce the mandatory mask rule, mainly thinking about the cashiers at that Valu-Mart in Minden yesterday having to deal with the irate customer.

They don’t get paid to deal with that shyte

What so many aren't seeing is how many workplaces that have been deemed essential from day one. Many have never social distanced or worn masks, after all they don't have prying eyes from the public like grocery and other stores. Workers to afraid to report to the MNR in fear of retaliation from employers or complete shutdown of business.
So many of them have no cases of Covid, not by luck or masks, but by using common sense while working around others.

You fear for your job, so you do not report law , or health and safety infractions. How is that good?

What should be happening is the grocery store employee's responsibility stops at "inform". If the customer is still non-compliant, then it becomes the manager's problem. If the manager expects the employee to enforce the rule, the employee should refuse to do it as unsafe work. I can't see a Ministry of Labour investigator siding with the employer here.

Unfortunately what happens is although the employee cannot be reprimanded in any way for refusing unsafe work, a month or two down the road the employer will find a different reason to get rid of that employee for "just cause". For the most part people aren't as concerned with refusing work in the moment as they are with how things will be with the boss afterwards.

    Did you watch the video?

Again, if your not in an area where the virus is concentrated you are lucky you dont have to use PPE to help prevent the spread. Come on down to one of the hot zones, its a whole different story, you cant ignore the protocols they have in place to keep people safe, you would be the only one not wearing a mask in the places I shop. Your comparing apples to oranges, Im not going to argue your strawman argument, what Im talking about is a much greater scale then what you are living in.

Go try and get medical assistance in a hospital that requires you to wear a mask, Im fairly certain all hospitals require them at this point. Throw down your "im a panzy and cant follow the rules" card and you will be escorted out by security just like that yahoo on twitter that was in the news last week.

In the case in Minden, he did not get into the store but according to sources, was 'informed' by staff of a need for a mask, before entering, and then assaulted the staff in the parking lot.

Unfortunately I have the unwanted pleasure of dealing with these types of people every day on my job. One thing in common is they work harder against the system then if they just did what was right its less stress, less effort and their actions benefit more people when they chose to work together to solve an issue then try and stand out and be difficult for absolutely no real reason. Sometimes pride and ego get in the way of common sense, I see it everyday.

Newsflash there may never be a cure or vaccine for covid-19 so how long is society going to live in fear and wear masks thinking hoping it's going to save us all. To little to late for action now, this virus is every where worldwide and China is to blame along with the WHO. Our own governments are also to blame, theydidnt take it serious back in December/January and joked about it, allowed international travellers to enter our country sick or not. Later tell us people were being screened from international flights, meanwhile no screening at all allowing all passengers to walk off their flights and on their merry way. Now their trying to tell us all we need to wear non-medical masks it will save us now. Best of luck....
The mask is to try to prevent the wearer from hacking their lungs out all over the produce or railings or whatever as they're out and about. Very little is to protect the wearer.
