    Default Temagami Grouse

Hey all! I'm considering heading up to the Temagami area late October and was wondering how grouse hunting would be. The birds are pretty skittish in the area I usually go for bird and am hoping to have better luck than in the Minden area.

I think the hunting should be fine. A lot of leaves should be down by late October. Makes spotting birds easier.

Should be interesting this year. On the upside with borders closed there would be a void of americans and their dogs at grouse camps. On the down side with pelee shut down and heading to the american west not an option guys may head north for grouse.
For me I'll just chase some close by E.S.G.s

I just picked up a sweet little Stevens 20ga O/U. Can't wait to try it. Our Moose hunt is cancelled this year,so,I might just head up for some Upland for a couple of days.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

    I visit the area often.
Generally the birds are not too skittish in the Temagami area.
They do get hunted but not too heavily.
I atv and snowmobile the area and see lots that you can just drive up on without flushing them.

I have property in Minden and i agree the grouse have been hard to find but on the other hand A dozen turkeys casually walked by me yesterday and some were looking rather plump. My relatives are obsessed with feeding deer and ducks to the point there's 30 ducks in their yards everyday. I keep reminding them about CWD. Grouse on the trails are few. I think the wolves are getting them, the howls have been picking up over time.

Let us know how you fare in Temagami. Middle of September I had planned to fish/upland the week in Timiskaming, hope its good camping weather.

Seeing good numbers of grouse and rabbits around Timmins, Foleyet, Gogama Sultan area. Should be a good season.
