    Default Too tame to shoot

I did hunt my pond a couple of days ago and we managed to shoot 3. Today there were 16 geese on the grass and in the water. I went out to pick up 3 full body decoys which had blown over and only 3 of the geese took off. The rest of them just walked out to the water. Just not sporting to shoot them. I’ll wait for them to fly in another day.

It's pretty funny how close you can get to them when you aren't hiding in a marsh or field trying to draw them in. I guess they are used to people being harmless throughout the summer in the parks and waterfront properties.

Nice. I guess it depends on how hungry you are...

When I was younger I probably would have shot them. As I get older it’s more about calling them in and the whole experience. I don’t really care if I shoot my limit anymore.

Nothing wrong with that... I'm pretty much the same now.

No fun in that, changes the term sitting duck. Its all about the hunt in my eyes. Maybe next time you will be set up before they come to relax in your pond LOL you will get them next time

Heading out this morning. Going to wait until around 6:30 and bring a coffee to watch the sun come up.
