I don't think it's because they refuse to follow the rules . Probably has more to do with the heated arguments lol.

Wait a second.........that sounds to me like a left leaning Liberal!!? So you are telling me you shut down a political thread because someone's feelings were hurt?
Because this thread has been closed, and this subsequent thread serves as a reminder as to what happens when you can't be civil to other members of the Forum. Failure to abide by the Forum's guidelines will result in infractions and/or banishment from the Forum. Allow this to serve as yet another warning of what happens if this subject is broached once again. I don't like to police the community, I have balked against it time and again, but if you cannot proceed with respect and dignity, here we are.
How small and vapid to see the world merely in terms of conservative versus liberal. Didn't I recently help you sort out your photo-uploading issues, too? Mercy.

I bet you will not find this crap here -

Do I really have to explain why this behaviour is unacceptable? We are doing the precise opposite of censoring. You're throwing a tantrum, and it's boring, frankly.

Meghan - what do you think you would get in a political thread...........a bunch of guys sitting in a circle holding hands and singing kumbaya? No, you were going to get some heated debate and the odd argument.

I agree, every time I post something that other people don’t agree with ,they seem to get on the thread to tell me why they don’t appreciate my point of view. Then it degenerates into name calling , contrary to the rules..

It's pretty obvious to most members here that the majority of altercations here in many threads is due to one particular troll who relishes stirring the pot as much as he can. Soon as he sees a thread he can troll he's in there like a dirty shirt just drooling every time he gets other members going. He adds nothing concrete to this forum at all except to raise shyte. I'll give him credit though, he is good at poking the bear without crossing the line. I have him blocked and I have strongly urged others to do the same rather than get caught up in his bs and respond to all the inane comments he posts. Plus those happen to be the only type of posts he comments on for the most part, his actual contributions to the hunting and fishing community are nil. There was a similar one in another forum I'm in and once he got suspended all the crap disappeared. Saying careful to him as a warning will accomplish little.
I also strongly agree with others here, instead of just closing a thread down you would be far better off dealing with the individual comments that cross the line.

smitty55-great post and how true what you just said.
I believe many of us missed to read in depth the reasoning why the thread was closed.
For me, the thread was closed properly(way to much BS)and accomplished one major thing-shut down the free-loud and flashing billboard of ..........................You or others are talking about.
Just think about it.
After all-as someone questioned earlier-where is the freedom earned by the many who died for Canada?(No disrespect for them by using them as comparison.)
Maybe some feel closing it was limiting their freedom of speech, but if one thinks about it deeply-may change his mind.
Many of us can sacrifice here a bit of our freedom of speech ..........for a good cause!

I agree with most of your post, but, freedom and liberty should never be sacrificed for any reason, especially, under the guise of "a good cause". Doing so puts us on the slippery slope that Canada seems to be on,now.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....
