Covid 2nd Wave....fact or fiction

Public Health data proves the infection rate is stable at 1.4 % of the population and has been since Jun. All that has happened is they went from testing 10,00 people a day to testing 50,000 a day. So naturally they have found more people who are positive.....but the infection rate has stayed the same...1.4 %.

The data proves out there NO 2nd wave only the media is saying there is.

I hear ya Mike, just going with my gut feeling that fall and winter months go hand in hand with colds and the flu. It makes sense that this particular coronavirus (there are a handful of them associated with the common cold), will take firmer handhold in the months to come.

We've already had a cold run through our household, kids have missed a full week of school.

A good harbinger will be the Hospitals....with the rapid test capability coming, they will be able to test and confirm Covid from the flu/cold. Then we'll see if the Covid cases are increasing substantially.

I saw an article the other day that wrote that the hospitals were seeing a surge in admissions due to the 2nd wave...they went from 7-8 patients a day to 10-12....seriously a surge ??? That's fear mongering.

I agree. I'm 74 with Parkinson's Disease ; my husband is 71 with diabetes. We are staying home except for once a month grocery shopping. Good thing we get along.

It's easy for the MD's and the Toronto Mayor to tell us all we should close businesses and stay home because they're pulling down $500K+ a year while everyone else struggles to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. Maybe all their pay cheques should stop,too. Let's see how easy it is for them to get by on a temporary CERB that's sure to be clawed back at tax time.

I feel exactly the same on that very subject. What were seeing is people, families suffering financially and struggling unnecessarily, while others are happy to sit at home collecting full pay, no worries at all.
Another economic lock down will be far more devastating than the first.
Until we change leadership in this country, don't expect anything positive in the near future for Canada.

I think a lot of the freeloaders will have a big surprise coming from Rev Canada....

Saw an article in the paper that's a follow up ..seems a lot of Canadians have guilty consciences and don't mind letting the Feds know when they see someone abusing the system...

Also read that the Government has been told that fraudulent claims may be as high as $40 million.

Canadians have made more than 830,000 repayments of COVID-19 emergency aid benefits to which they were not entitled — a statistic some say reflects mass confusion over fast-tracked federal programs.

The figures provided to CBC News by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) include repayments from recipients of the Canada emergency response benefit (CERB) and Canada emergency student benefit (CESB).

CRA said all of the repayments were voluntary.

CRA also told CBC News it has received more than 20,000 confidential tips about suspected cheating related to COVID-19 emergency aid programs.

All anonymous tips are reviewed for evidence of fraud.

In June, the Liberal government proposed legislation that would have imposed fines or even jail time on people who deliberately lied on CERB applications. It backtracked after a public and political outcry.

1) Healthcare — Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty — Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control — Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).

6) Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.

8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

The Toronto Mayor's salary is 192,503.43 dollars per year or at least that's what Google says. As far as shutting down businesses ? He and/or his Chief Medical Officer have the power to do that within the city's limits and last I heard they will only be targeting places that are hotspots for outbreaks. If the Province enforces closures they too have that power albeit on a grander scale. The doctors and scientists told us from the beginning that there will be a Second Wave but at least this time around we are better prepared to deal with it. Also keep in mind that this "pandemic" is an "un-precedented event" in our lifetime. So ? Be part of the solution and not the problem. Wear your mask, wash your hands, keep your distance.

That's what father turdhole wants and he's got the NDP propping up his government. The shyte show has only begun it should get real interesting when the government funding ends next summer. The government will be broke and a good majority won't have a pot to p_ss in.
