Pay attention to how far we have come
1) Healthcare — Control healthcare and you control the people
2) Poverty — Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control — Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).
6) Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.
8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.
Yeh I agree Trump should not be doing this to the American people.

The good majority as you so aptly put it should not be living beyond their means. If you cannot afford stuff you should not be buying it.

If the Province enforces closures they too have that power albeit on a grander scale. The doctors and scientists told us from the beginning that there will be a Second Wave but at least this time around we are better prepared to deal with it. Also keep in mind that this "pandemic" is an "un-precedented event" in our lifetime. So ? Be part of the solution and not the problem. Wear your mask, wash your hands, keep your distance.
One of the biggest problems is we're allowing international travel without any quarantine for certain travellers. We have Americans bringing the virus to our country and our PM is allowing them to go about their business when they arrive.
Go ahead wear your mask and wash your hands and keep distance while our federal government allows the virus free entry into our country.

Pretty sad Gilroy when certain individuals are being forced out of their livelihood having their business forced closed while others are happy to sit at home getting full pay. Its not about living beyond their means. Does CERB payments equal as much as your pension cheques every month. How would you like to be paid cerb instead?

My work pension check is based on my past earnings, what I have already earned, and worked for, so not relevant. CERB is based on lost wages, now . If you are talking about the old age pension, CERB would pay me more.

There's also a big difference between people sitting at home getting full pay, while others are forced do the same and get cerb, which does not equal lost wages. And let's not forget the people getting full pay to sit at home are not going to have to payback anything, unlike people being forced to close and collect cerb, only to get further screwed to payback through tax return

Not a single Politician or civil servant have lost any salary since the beginning of this Pandemic. Most were sent at full salary. Hard for them to comprehend that a lot of the public have lost their jobs and businesses due to actions of the government and have to survive on these CERB benefits.
I guess to some people using the CERB to pay for food and rent is considered living beyond their means...

No need to look across the border as we as Canadians don't vote for the American president. What needs to be dealt with is the village idiot trying to run the show up here. We do have a say in that and the longer that he is captain the faster this country is sinking!!! Poor Canada.
