Default The Story of Dick Proenneke - Alone in the Wilderness

Alone in the Wilderness” is the story of Dick Proenneke living in the Alaska wilderness. Dick filmed his adventures so he could show his relatives in the lower 48 states what life was like in Alaska, building his cabin, hunting for food and exploring the area

okay, im 24 and i watched the full 4 hours last night .

what an amazing piece, im sure alot if not everyone has watched this already but if you haven't id urge you to .

    i really enjoyed it.

him building that cabin with just a couple saws an axe and a couple other tools is just amazing to me.

and some of the wildlife videos he captures is awesome. it almost feels like im reading a book when watching it.

At his age he's in better shape than most 40 year olds. Just a work horse. Loved this documentary as well, I should watch it again its been awhile.

Really remarkable story of a great man. We can learn many things from him just by watching his videos.
In the big scheme of things he was not exactly alone,he had at least 2 neighbours ,one couple and a lonely man. Maybe not year round ,but he was not on his own, way out in the boonies.
Does takes nothing away from his great life though.........

i dont think he ever wanted to be totally alone in a sense , in one of the video's when they go to see him they actually say he likes people alot, he just wanted to get out from civilization i think and make a life as his own

It's awesome. Sure it was 4 hours? Maybe there's another version I need to look up. The one i've watched is an hour. And then there's a second one that's an hour as well.

theres 4 episodes in total, the first one is the main one where he builds the cabin, theres one where some guys go to visit him and then theres a couple that i feel hone in on just the wildlife around him and their patterns.

i believe theyre all an hour long
