No . Proof is NOT what an individual 'believes'. That is faith, not proof. Can any religious person refute what Ricky G. states? Could any religious person answer the questions put by Fry?

And you have faith that the universe (and all this order) came from a big explosion ... all of it comes down to faith in the end. And actually that is Scriptural. By faith alone we believe. Do you refuse to acknowledge that if HEAVEN is real, then we'd be better off there than here? So what is death, other than some gateway that we are so scared of while we are on this planet ... once we are on the other side for ETERNITY ... will we not look back at the few years we had on this earth and shake our heads acknowledging how insignificant it actually was?

What??? How does that make ANY sense. Mike ... please read the Bible ... and understand it before you come on here and say Fry's BS actually is right. Here's the synopsis ... God put man in the Garden of Eden (of yes, and everyone says it's a parable ... just to belittle it) ... perfection, no illness, nothing. Man goes against God, even though he warned them ... Man brings upon sickness to himself! NOT God's choice ... himself, by corrupting himself with sin ... God says, even though YOU did that, I still love you ... just believe in me ... have faith ... and we pray, when WE are sick ... and he answers ... period. If he choses not to answer that prayer, yes, I put it down to a greater good! Even the child ... if they are in Heaven ... that is the best place in the universe to be ... yes it is painful to lose them ... but isn't it just temporary if God exists and so does Heaven??

Yup if he cured you , he gave it to you. And those he does not cure? Nothing is a coincidence. Everything is gods will. He has a plan for you. To bad that plan includes cancer, that you may or may not survive, depending on his largesse. As a member of a palliative care team for 3 decades, I can tell you I heard a lot of questions asked at the hundreds of deaths I was in attendance for. But not one answer was forthcoming.

Uhmm no ... God gives us freedom of will ... will to choose ... we gave ourselves disease. Now we blame God ... wow.

Not to beleaguer this, as one learns early on in life not to use logic to discuss religion to someone who is pious, but I do like this response by Stephen Fry when asked his opinion about a 'God'...very well put. !!

It might be blind faith but personally I would find it pretty depressing to think this mortal life is all we have.We are one planet in one galaxy of many more and there is no end to space,pretty mind boggling and narrow minded to think mankind can explain and rationalize the universe and our place in it.With every new discovery like DNA we are given a little more evidence a higher power is in operation.The book of revelations is actually being pretty accurate but you need to read it.

There is many things around us we cannot always see and hear. With cameras in so many places, there is just far to many things seen on recording devices that science does not have an answer for. Long ago before cameras were everywhere, science claimed it was peoples minds playing tricks on them. Science is no longer making those claims because the proof is now being recorded on cameras and the science world of skeptics have absolutely no way to explain whats being recorded on security cams when nobody is present.

There is standing reward of millions of dollars, for any recorded evidence of 'ghosts' caught on camera. Even with the advent of all the new fangled recording devises , it still remains unclaimed. Make the best of this world, because when your dead, your dead. No coming back , no going to a better place. Dead. Gil , the reward at the end of your days, should be in knowing you left the world a better place for your having been here. Not some unproven theory that you will be rewarded after death in a 'special 'place, for those deemed worthy.

Who gave us cancer ... God, or the chemicals that man has made that we ingest and inhale EVERY SINGLE DAY? Who corrupted the world? The mosquito, or man? Who said we were not immune to things like cancer and malaria at one time ... but our sin subject our bodies to illness?

For a man that's been on this planet for a few years ... not sure how you are so confident in your memory or knowledge of how the entire history of mankind went down ... what did you eat for breakfast on Sept 2, 2020 ... just a few months ago? Don't remember? And here you are trying to recall the entire course of humankind.

Why would you believe in such a morbid ending?? Nothing but belief ... because you have NO IDEA what happens after your dead ... it can only be a belief before you die and actually experience what happens. Ask yourself, how do you have consciousness? How are you, you? How is it that you (your thoughts) cannot just jump into anyone else's head and be them? How do you exist, as a conscious being, and not just some robotic biomass without thought? Where does that consciousness go when you are dead ... is it like a CPU, turn off the power and it's gone? If it's a CPU, are we just programmed?? Who programmed us then, a big bang explosion??? Come on man ... you want to tell me my belief in God is insane?? I think what you're talking about is the next level of insanity.

And ghosts ... let's talk about that ... what are ghosts according to the Bible ... let's see if you've really read the book from front to back three times.
