Astro 900 but not legal here yet????? so Astro 320.
See Stuart's post on the legality of the 900.

The 900 is the Canadian version so it's legal. It also half the unit as the Alpha 100 for almost the same price.

I have experience with the alpha model and would recommend it. It has many features that might not be utilized by all, but may be valuable to you in the future. I routinely use the tone feature for recall and the alphas ability to pair and track other collars and receivers. It can also be used as a trash breaker.

I have the Astro 430 and T5 mini collars. I use this setup on Beagles that we run on Deer. Luv my Garmin and wouldn't release a Dog without it. The Alpha offers much more in the training aspect.

Thanks, I check that comparison https://technobark.com/best-garmin-dog-collars/ and it seems like Alpha 100 is more a combination of tracking plus remote training features while Astro 430 is mostly solely a tracking device.
I am thinking of getting T5 mini collars without Astro 430 cuz I just need GPS tracking. Unless those training features are helpful. Did it help to train your dogs?

I train with the tritronics when doing yard work and anymore i just run the alpha 100 when hunting with my broke dogs. It eliminates another collar. Once you run an Alpha you won't want anything else.

If you are only getting the T5 mini collars without the Astro 430, what are you going to track the collars with ?

I use the sportdog tek 2.0. Works great. Can control up to 15 dogs. And can also track other sportdog handler units. Comes programmed with maps.
