If some CO wants to track me 2k back into the bush , find my stand in the dark and check and see if I have chambered a round at 06:15 instead on 06:17...then the MNR has a huge problem with their application of enforcement.

Man you guys are a bunch of Nervous Nellies ..... I think they call it Capiophobia...look it up.

I have it from the horses mouth, at least in this area, a CO will not go into the bush to look for hunters breaking rules, especially in the dark. It's a safety issue.

So what goes on in the tree stand at 06:15 am is between you and your conscience, because no one is ever going to find out what you do back there.

agree with most of that, but if they know that you are hunting field edges they've came and drove their ATVs through the field to us in the morning with their lights on to check us before.

i guess there's a difference if you are 2k into the bush.

Breaking the rules and keeping it to yourself is one thing. Admitting it on the internet is not a wise choice...

The fine for an unencased firearm is $150. That's a bargain if you ask me

    114. Unlawfully possess firearm at night 20 (1) (b) $150.00

I think you could nail you with the 113. "Unlawfully hunt at night" ...but then you can still be hunting without a loaded firearm while you sitting in your stand, in the dark at 6:00am...think about that for a minute HaHa.

Before you all get excited...I'm not condoning an unlawful act....just playing along with Bush Mooses attempt to lighten up the forum in the 'extraordinary' times Haha..

Unless you are in the Entertainment Business, unwanted attention by claiming to do a Crime is never a good thing.

I am the same as you always go by the sunrise and sunset charts for my specific area.I see no advantage or need to have a gun loaded before or after legal shooting times as the light conditions are poor and like others in the evening I have no desire to track a deer in the dark.I personally know my area CO,s and would be terribly embarrassed to break a law for no real advantage. It basically comes down to hunting ethics and setting a standard for and others. My son is now into hunting and setting a good example is very important for me,as he also sets and example for his buddies.
