We have less freedoms, less rights, and more taxation. So what did I defend. I find it hard to argue with those have not understood what has been lost in freedoms and rights in the last 40 yrs. These are all things I had before I joined and thought I still had until I went to get PAL..and it was through firearms rights, defense of property and person I changed my views.
SO the heads that need to shaken are the ones who don't want or understand rights. But it is pretty hard to educate those who have never had them.
Well I have had the same background as you and had no problems obeying lawful orders. However I do not see all these losses of freedoms you seem to believe you have lost.Everybody has to get a PAL, big deal what is the problem with taking a few simple test,s should have been a breeze for an ex military guy. What rights have you lost since 1980?If your talking firearms you never had those rights in the first place that's an American concept.
Please list all the freedoms and rights you have lost in the past 40 years, this should be interesting.Yes taxes do go up like everything else in life it gets more expensive.

Mike I couldn't agree more as I see that exact scenario play out daily every time I go into town to do my shopping runs. Walking across the parking lot I see folks pull the mask out their pocket, put it on and then while in the store they are constantly fidgeting with their mask and like you mentioned poking through the produce dept touching all sorts of apples for example picking out the ones they want. Another thing I often see from mask wearers is a total disregard for social distancing as they foolishly believe they are somehow immune from the virus due to a piece of fabric or paper mask covering their face. . Then I see them again at the next store pulling out that same used mask out of their pocket as they go through the same motions again with not really a clue as to what they are doing. Then of course there are the ones who really prove how clueless they are as they drive in their car with a mask still on or the totally scared witless ones who walk around outside with a mask on. Then there are high and mighty ones like a few here that have no clue that there are plenty of exemptions for people from wearing masks but can't wait to criticize someone for not wearing one.
Here's a quick story. Every few weeks I like to treat myself to a donair at a store in CP, they are really good. I've been going there all summer with out a mask on and have never had an issue. So Saturday I go in to grab a couple of them and walk into the store as their is only one customer and their limit is 5. Well right away a couple of the staff say you have to have a mask on so I tell them I have been going in all summer without one including just a couple of weeks back. So Eric asks me for proof and I say he's not even allowed to ask for that. Well apparently some scared witless patron had complained about someone being there without a mask on and they got a call from the health dept. Anyway the boss comes out and says don't worry, just go stand at the doorway and we'll fix you up. So I did and there taped to the window like in most places is the health dept. notice of mask wearing. There at the bottom paragraph is the information explaining that there can be many exemptions to mask wearing and that proof of exemption is not required. So I'm at the doorway reading it out loud to everyone inside making sure they can here me. I tell them it's right there in there window at the doorway and well doesn't Eric pipe up and say he hasn't even read the paper from the health dept. LIke WTF, this guy isn't wearing a mask behind their plexiglass barrier while he's handling everyone's food and yet he doesn't even know the regulations concerning patrons. Anyway I will be having a chat with the owner and quite possibly contacting the LGL Health Unit enforcement officer, who gave me his number and said to contact him if I ever had any issues.

This is a major problem with masks.
Also studies showed that mask wearers have the dirtiest hands.
"
masks may act as an extra transmission route or prompt other behaviour that transmits the virus, such asregular face touching. To stop masks being turned into alternative transmission routes, they need to be safely put on and taken off.
People touch their faces15-23 times per houron average – an itchy or poorly fitted mask may mean that people touch theireyes, nose and moutheven more regularly. After touching your mask, there’s a risk that your hands become contaminated, with the risk that you will then spread the virusto other surfaces, such as door handles, railings or tables. "

Every time you squeeze that metal strip to tighten your mask, on the bridge of your nose, your fingers are touching the corner of your eyes which is a prime spot for the virus to take hold.
No wonder the virus is spreading....and it's due to touching the masks.

If you listen to the public and the source of infection many have been following the guidelines including wearing a mask.
Many new cases are wondering where they got it as they followed all the guidelines.
Mmmmm.

Has too much time on their hands
The pro-maskers need to explain why cases are surging more when wearing masks, and the numbers were lower when nobody wore masks?

Maybe has something to do with the fact just released that the age group 12-15 now has the highest % of positive tests at over 7% of those tested. Youthful rebellion with their friends, taking off the masks when no adult around ?

Well when you see groups of 20-30 of them walking from school to the local fast food joint with absolutely no distance between them and no masks, there's the answer. Looks like a school of sardines on the move.
