We have empathy for others why are complaining about what the government has done to protect the most vulnerable . The most vulnerable need the help more than school children.
80 percent of the death in Canada is from old age homes and again are being left to die every day in these places . Why didn't they go to the hospital ? Because they are already overwhelmed without covid.
These places have been left ignored for decades . Why is 2 or 3 people are sharing rooms . They emptied the jail's and left the vulnerable to die. Oh but there is no place for our elders to go . They can't space them out they won't send them to the hospital. But they are the ones dying day after day.
Are they really getting the protection they deserve ? No they are not.
Why is the government spent so much money but left the vulnerable in the dark. ?

Yup. I fear that libertarians take over, and anyone can do whatever the hell they want. Even if it adversely affects many others. Who wants to live in an, I'm in it for me world? I love individualism, but sometimes things must be done for the greater good, for the most people..

I asked...a lot of them had/have DNR orders...which is the norm in most LTC facilities.

Well how else would you like to see this played out?
Just screw everyone instead helping the ones who need the help?
Many were ok with shutdowns in the beginning what many had problems with that is that they only shut down 50 percent of the population . Like our usual the government only likes to do 50 percent of the work and blame the other 50 percent for it not working.
Example our gun ban
And covid 19.
Tell the public the voters one thing and then puts the blame back on others .
When you only do 50 percent of the work it's bound to fail 50 percent of the time.

But they are the ones that need the help the most .
How does a personal support worker help save lives ?
They don't . They need medical help and they are not getting the treatment and care they need.
I Guess they are supporting their deaths tho. Sad .
If there was a place for these sick elderly people to go, I bet many more lives could be saved. But we didn't prepare for that .
Just shutdown everything instead.
It's to late to have patient zero in Canada it won't work our government only did 50 percent of the work barely a pass Infact into wrong move will a complete fail.

The H1N1 type flu runs thru these LCT /Nursing home annually and kill a whack of old people. Many are clinging to life with a myriad of compromised health concerns. Most families have DNRs to prevent prolonging what is inevitable. The flues just speed up the process and cover off what the MAID program won't approve.
It's sad, but having had a good buddy in an LTC ....dying was an escape for him.
Covid was/is more aggressive and killed more than normal but in the end, these people were already at the end of their journey., With a proper triage in a health emergency, they would be low on a priority ranking.

Ff . Do you know what a DNR order is? . Let nature run it’s course. No heroic measures to prolong life.

So a vaccine will be ready by spring and at the end of next year the majority of Canadians could be vaccinated.
But what happens to the many who do not get it ? We are stupid for not wanting a vaccine?
By the end of next year then they will need to vaccine our most valuable again as of the vaccine will not manage them anymore. As we space out the vaccine the front line will catch back up leaving them vulnerable again. Before much of the public receives a vaccine.
See a problem here ? Spacing out the vaccine might not work in there favor. Some get it in the spring will not really help when the fall bug comes back out or the entire flu season. They might be protected in the spring but they won't likely be protected come winter .

No our government didn't help there same old thing .
What has our leader done to protect them covid?
It's not us doing it . There have been no preventative measures taken to help save these people. Our elders should be top priority but it's not . It's not us killing them they did nothing to better them.
