Oldest Son Scores His First Deer
My oldest son who is 27 has taken multiple bears and lots of small game but the stars have never aligned for deer. Most of the reason has been he is in Australia for most of the season doing seasonal work. This year he was home for part of October than did 30 days of contract work at a mine and has been home since the end of November. So i showed him how to use my climber and set him loose with my crossbow. Fortunately for him i buy him a tag every fall just in case and also makes sure he gets into the anterless draw as well. Well today he put it together with a really nice button buck. Gonna eat really good:
It was a quartering shot at 25 yards. Ended up taking out one lung and the liver.

Congrats! Since I'm in the market, I couldn't help but notice the laminated stock, what bow is that?

It's a one of kind bow:
- Excalibur Matrix 380 limbs, riser and rail
- Boo Flemish String
- Triggertech 2-stage trigger
- Excalibur Relayer Y25 laminated stock - there was a limited edition run of 1000 of these made 13 years ago - collectors items now.
- Luepold Mark 4 Optics
Picked it up at a silent auction fundraiser for Cancer research.
The whole bow is essentially overkill but is super nice to shoot - Especially the stock - fits me perfectly and just feels good in your hands. That being said it does not kill any better than any stock Crossbow.
