Gilroy, the Carbon Tax on LNG is ever so slightly higher, than the tax on Propane. Not sure the exact numbers, can't be bothered to look it up. Maybe something like 3.09% vs 3.05%.
Our house is what I might call reasonable/modest at just under 1800 square feet. We actually wanted to find a small bungalow, but as with so much you know where. People have been buying those, razing them, and building bigger/better. Hard to come by. Our bill for last winter call it $2,600. Maybe it was closer to $3,000 for the year.
Nat Gas for me in a similar house in Whitby was $110/month ( equal billing) or call it $1,200 year.
4% ( LNG) on $1,200?????
3.5% ( PrP) on $3,0000????
Same with Hydro Rates, people in the country are getting reamed. When the hard truth is, it's the "city". That we can see from the moon from at night.
Here's a "scary" thought.
No doubt, in a year or two JT and the Green Brigades are going to subsidize EVs. Aside from 70% not being able to afford them subsidy or not.Who exactly can we expect to take advantage of the subsidies. "Funded by Rural Canada". Because they can't adapt, can't move to more affordable greener alternatives......Where exactly is the grid lock? Cars idling at drive throughs? and so much more....
I wonder, if we look at the Agriculture, Dairy, or meat farming industry. Ok, fine, I'll buy into the green arguments. Why are their emissions going through the roof, accelerating Climate Change?
/points at cities needing to eat, pretty pampered people that have lost touch with nature, unwilling to get their fingernails dirty..
/points at the fast life
/points at dinning out, The Jays games, the theatres....
Good read this, very good read.
