    Default Double this morning

Farmer been texting me saying he's seeing coyotes quite a bit. Get there at 7am this morning and he's already out feeding cattle in the field. Got set up not far away as the tractor headed back to the barn. Started with a few barks and howls at 730. Instantly an answer to the north. Waited 5 minutes then more quick bark howls. Watched about 50 turkeys fly out of the swamp to the field, watched them for a second then back looking south downwind....

Glance back at the turkeys and there's 4 coyotes running past them across the field coming my way from complete upwind side. Couldn't believe it.

Get turned around and gun set up. Waited til lead coyote was at about 75 yards then shot the last one at about 220 yards...then shot the lead one at about 100 as hes looking around. Just got on the 3rd at the tree line at about 450 yards when he stopped. Shot and seen him drop then 20 seconds later he's up hobbling to the bush. Couldn't get another shot off, tracked him about 75 yards into the swamp until I was in water up to my knees and couldn't find anymore sign. Bummer, Almost had a triple.

Thanks everyone. Coyotes are prime right now, they stink like usual but these ones all nice and healthy.
