This cold snap should help
This cold snap should help tighten up the marshes up at our hunt camp. With that being said it will be time for a group of us to head north up to the camp for our annual work party of cleaning, doing some repairs if needed, replacing bedding material and installing some new woody boxes.
Can be hard work depending on the snow depth but something we do look forward to...Always a goodtime and a chance to get together...and reminisce of past hunts and the upcoming season...

Do you hike in or drive in with Skidoos or trucks?

Depending were up North is, right now is a good time as there's hardly any snow.
With a good truck (Ford
) and good tires (Duratracs
), as of today, you can pretty much drive anywhere around Timmins, Gogama, Ramsay and Foleyet bush area.

I wish! We only have about 16 inches of snow here but its all gone like sugar, any incline at all stops you dead. Even the quads struggle.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

We're south of Bancroft. We can get into the camp with trucks, but to get to all the woody boxes, approximately, 64 of them we head in by snow machines towing a sleigh which holds a ladder and the rest of the gear..
