I have never seen one that black before after all these years. The only other thing I can compare it to is a wolf that I saw back in the 90's. Just as dark as the dog that you took... A trophy and a wall hanger for sure... Nice work Frank...

No it was a loner.... never seen or heard of any others in my area.....
I have taken a few reds ones but none like this.

Ive eyeballed a few over the past 10 years. one while deer hunting that was just a pup. i'm too nice to them and it was in a bush where they arent a problem to me so i passed.
another here in the backfields. because of the neighbours border collie and lab and my terrible eyesight from a distance i make sure i dont shoot black dogs just in case. im pretty sure it's still kicking around to this date.

Congrats on the rare and beautiful yote!
I don't anyone more dedicated than YOU when it comes to coyote hunting so you definitely deserve this trophy.
It looks wayyyyyyyy nicer than the one which ran in front of my car Friday morning. Missed the bumper by ten inches.
Saw one more a few minutes later while driving through Pickering area (~11:00 a.m.) so they're getting more plentiful by the minute.

It was in Sombra township, north of Wallaceburg...where was yours shot...
