It seems as though they are purposely turning the screw until there is massive civil unrest.

So, simple math would say that at Pearson, excluding the now banned southern destination flights there is an average of 33 international flights a day such as scheduled for tomorrow. There are a lot of jumbo jets but I will use an average of 200 passengers per flight. That is 6,600 passengers.

Now, the minimum detention is 3 days. So, at any given time there will be 19,800 passengers locked down in Toronto. This is if they all test negative. God forbid that some test positive and are forced into a 14 day detention.

This is Toronto only. Now add Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.

What about all the flight crews? What makes them special? Breathing the same canned air for many hours as everyone else. Exception?

The Communist Liberals have gone nuts!

2 million people ordered into house arrest, due to 1 new case. As far as I'm concerned, snow birds should be happy just to be back in Canada. If they have to spend some time insolatoin. Boo-hoo

Here's the thing. If its as bad and scary as Ford, JT, health officials say.
Airports should have been locked tight long ago, as well as hot spots. aka 416/905. So it begs the question, why hasn't that occurred.

I was told by someone that wanted to go back and visit their parents in China that they had to go to Xian for 2 weeks and isolated hotel stay (Usually they go into Beijing or Shanghai and travel on from there) before they could travel to any other city and a friend of mine went to Hong Kong for their work, two weeks of hotel stay with a tracker on before they could leave the hotel. Last I heard they let the WHO land in Wuhan but they were put in 2 weeks isolation, followed by another 2 weeks since someone tested positive (supposedly) so maybe by now they are investigating in person.

This kind of action a year ago, might have slowed the initial spread and this MIGHT slow the spread of the variants but I would actually be surprised if most of the variants are not already here in far larger numbers than those reported and they were asymptomatic or no one has really looked for them yet. The article about the military games in Wuhan in October and how the Liberal's won't test the Canadian soldiers that attended, even though many of them came home sick (probably because it would contradict China), suggests that even a year ago it was probably way too late. The fact the soldiers are untested and not part of the epidemiological spread calculations obviously means they aren't included in any of the diagrams showing the spread.

The ONLY benefit I can see from doing it now is that with the reduced air travel and this the spread of future variants may be slowed, but how long will they continue it. Right now we only have the politicians looking at polls and looking back and it seems none are thinking beyond then end of the week and trying to think of how this needs to be improved, including Ford. I heard from someone on disability that their disability cheques were actually reduced a bit last month, elderly and disabled take it on the chin again with a sledgehammer, bet the gov't staff and politicians didn't get a reduction.

Well it had to get here somehow, plane, boat, pogo stick, that's why I've always said NO travel unless extreme reasons, and that doesn't include, I need a tan.

I don't doubt you at all, and how many more cases that we don't know about, misdiagnosed, people think they just have a cold and shrug it off.

As far as I am concerned, civil unrest is exactly the plan in a few months. When these riots occur, it will be the state (Feds) that gets the power its needs to enact the EMA at Federal level. This is exactly the plan, Trudeau (I give credit when credit is due - even if misguided), has done a wonderfully brillant strategy to NOT enact the EMA, but instead waited until public pressure was force on Premiers to act for each province, politically he gets to play the I am not (yet), the dictator you all make me out be, causes the angry reaction early on against Premiers - who are bearing the political cost and had no choice to act for media attacks and public opinion.

No Turdboy - is waiting for the unrest to finally step in for the "country", mass protests will do it, civil unrest will launch it, make no mistake this has always been part of the "political capital" management plan for the Turd. It will also further back the need for gun ban and justify it with "I told you so", and, then more restrictions and confiscations will be ordered as a result to protect the people..

Just follow how it was done in Venezuela… textbook.

It sucks that we put it all into a vaccine that cases increase 6 fold with the new strains or variants they call them. It just means health care will be screwed still.

Covid needs a place to go other than our hospitals . Think you have covid go here lol.

Heard a commercial the other day said welcome to our new normal . Pee,d me off as it doesn't have to be like this.

And to think, this could have been all stopped had they grounded flights last Chinese new year ... who was responsible for that NOT happening?
