Our borders (via air) were never closed. And for the most part there were no checks done on arrival, until recently. When I was travelling in Feb/20, when other countries (UK, Germany, Turkey, Pakistan) were doing basic checks on arrival (temperature checks, wellness survey) there was absolutely nothing when arriving back in Canada.
There are several private clinics doing covid testing now. I think it costs about 250 CAD.

We arrived in Panama, on Feb 4th 2020. All airport personnel were wearing mask, and we had to have our temps taken and answer the standard questions. Panama.
Canada. Not so much. We blew through Pearson
Let that sink in.

We came back through Pearson from Florida about March 6th 2020, was even thinking about coming back a few days earlier but didn't. Fastest walk-thru ever to get out of the airport, no checks at all. Our hotel in TO was empty though, we were the only customers in the bar/restaraunt.
Was really surprised at the lack of any checks upon landing.

My daughter arrived yesterday from Costa Rico , she had been down there over two weeks and flew in via Chicago. She had to have a negative test 72 hrs before she left there (pre booked). Either had to go to the hotel for 3 days here and complete another test or self isolate for 14 days before going onto Edmonton. So here she is.

Has too much time on their hands
Doesn't matter now a year later, all the variants are here now making their rounds.
Our liberals have failed Canadians when it comes to public safety repeatedly on so many levels.

We might as well let them finish their final destruction of Canada. The damage has been done irrevokably and permanently. No matter which party is elected, they'll never be able to repair the damage done by the Liberal Party of Canada. Stick a fork in it,we're done. Fade to black........
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

If it was that bad how come the Conservatives are so desperate to get back in power, they obviously believe the situation is not as dire as you folk's want it to look.

Lol.
If we follow your logic, then Trump wasn't so bad, and the Democrats believed things were ok.
Sometimes Gilroy.
With respect to the damage and how long lasting it will be. Just look close to home and Ontario. It's been 12 years since 2008 and not much has changed. In fact, we don't have near enough PSWs, RNs, ICUs, or PPE initially...Did we. And we can thank McWynne, the Unions, and Liberals like yourself for that. I mean seriously. And i haven't even mention deficits, debt, Hydro, people you lefties claim to care about paying the prices....For the record, while you could be right on the next election. Big deal, Liberal voters like their chosen ones dont have any kind of track record to speak of. Its brutal over the past 30 years.
Federally
What evidence do you have for a change, that shows things are just peachy, or to the contrary, other just your words.
And I'll tell you something else. One reason I so often comes across as far right is exactly these reasons. The damage done to people, none more so than those who aren't so comfortable... by Liberals, and their supporters/die hards, who talk good games but never walk the talk, and allow things to get so bad.... With respect to current times, and things what's it going to take..........I am so reminded of Ontario between 2006 and 2017 it is disgusting. Recall all too well the "debates" here with you, FMC, ITD, and some others about basically the same crap. And even after Drummond kicked the lid off the garbage can, such that it couldn't be denied any longer....it still went on for 7 more years.....And even today, people and towns are still feeling the loses of jobs, tax revenue, stupid OPP raises, stupid Hydro rates, taxes and more paying for "your" blind "faith".
