If you feel one particular group of people,( because of the group that they belong to, not the individual themselves, ), is not worthy of your daughter. Does that make you a racist or a bigot? Fine line I would say. If you meet the guy, who is a member of an ethnic group or religion, you are not enamoured with, like him ,and think he loves your daughter, she loves him, would you be adverse to them marrying? Because of his ‘group ‘? That is where I think you will find the ‘line’. Lots of families think that their offspring could do better, and don’t agree with the choice, with whom they married, but hopefully not because of race or religion, even before the marriage starts. My grandfather was a proud Orangeman, member of the lodge,he used to walk in the parade. I married a catholic. He would have been very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. My father being the wise man he was , mentioned nothing about religion, and I got no ill vibes.

Does that make me a racist? The fact I would prefer my daughter not marry into a culture where women are treated like chattel?.
That makes me a racist?
Same daughter falls in love with a bible thumping alt right white man with socially conservative views. I’m not thrilled. Am I a racist. Might wIant to think hard about this one.
If your imaginary daughter falls in love with a bible thumper she is lucky because he will treat her very well - won't get drunk, won't run around on her, won't divorce her, won't gamble - will work hard to raise a nice family - and will pray that the father-in-law spends time to investigate the gospel -

Joepa. Just like any other religion, Christians have different rules for men and women. ...obey your husband , a woman should be silent, etc. It’s Wrong....If you don’t want your daughter to ‘obey ‘ a Muslim , how is obeying a Christen husband different? It’s not, unless you believe it is god ordained.

There’s a reason I choose some analogies Joe.
Social conservatives are often characterized as racist. Andrew Scheer comes to mind. Apparently you. Just because you were born and raised in a time/place, where the culture is different, have different views. Like some eat bats, seals, or goats from wet markets.
I wouldn’t “stop” my child from marrying into a different cultures. Though I may prefer she not. Doesn’t make me a racist.
That word,,like misogynist gets thrown around way too loosely.
But it is 2020 after all an are of cancel culture.
As Trimmer has said, bigotry and racism while they sometimes overlap, like sexism/misogyny are different things.

I am not a racist person I can teat anyone nice and I can treat anyone like crap.
Who my daughter wants to marry not my problem as long as she is treated well. My daughter is with a Mexican living in Regina I have no issue and he treats her well.
I have a step grand daughter from him and new baby grand daughter. Both are my grand kid's.
However I have notice our Prime Minister has been promoting racism quite well, when certain races get more rights or vaccines then others that promotes racism.

I don't know a single person that does, but I have notice that you are racist to Christians.

GW . I have to give you kudos for your respect of your daughters decisions. Why bring our Pm into the conversation? I am not racist against Christians. I am biased ,against all religions. Equally. As long as it doesn’t affect my life or the laws that I must follow, go for it. Your religion says you can’t wear shoes fine , just don’t tell me that I cannot wear shoes., because of your religion.

That is completely irrelevant to the fact we have gangsters running around the streets with multiple criminal gun convictions.
Thats the problem, its not about second chances, it's about thugs not being punished for multiple repeat gun convictions.
