Just heard a bit at the tail end of the news that there are few vehicles that went through the ice this afternoon/evening on simcoe. Anyone have any more details?

Every year it's the same crap out there. The ice went south in a big way here the last couple days, it would take some kind of special to think it would be ok on Simcoe.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

There were a few rescues happening, about 8 people around Beaverton side, a couple off Big Bay Point and another on the Oro side.

The ice on the big water didn't freeze well. Lots of pressure cracks. With that wind no fish is worth it. I remember 30 years ago in my dads truck driving around a pressure crack with two cars in it. Funny now I only walk out.
