Like a few things written down by men, some people only use the ‘ good ‘ bits. They ignore the rest, or say it was taken out of context.

This sentence, alone,if presented at trial to SCOTUS in it's entirety,is ripe for interpretation as a whole, not just the last few words of the sentence. When cases regarding 2A get to be heard,it seems that the Court will only rule on EXACTLY what's being presented. I really get the feeling that lawyers just aren't asking the right questions. If the question ever came in front of our Supreme Court in that matter,2A wouldn't last 10 seconds before being struck down. JoePa mentioned about criminals and mental illness and therein lies the rub. There's no doubt the shooters were stark raving nuts. The trick is to keep them from acquiring any firearm which defies all logic in the 2A preservation arguments by national firearm rights groups.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

This is a very interesting topic.
Many great ideas and posts.
My 2 cents
Here on the Forum "we" do openly and vehemently protect the rights of Uyghurs in China. Condemn the Chinese Government actions against the will of the Uyghurs.
At the other hand ,we do openly promote/ask the US Government for actions against the will of the Americans.
Why does this seems at glance like an oxymoron?
I disagree with innocent people's death-but America belongs to Americans ...
Yep-i know, this Forum is just a pastime ,and we all have our opinions....

It might be more accurate to say, people here don’t understand or don’t agree with the US. As opposed to saying they should.
That said.
Every time there’s an event like those of this week. The howls for bans here are loud.
Every time there’s an event here, 98% of the time the guns were not legally acquired. And guess where they come from. Bill Blair ( I think it was) even referenced some tragedies there as justification for bans here.
So while we don’t have a vote there. It is one the few topics, where their lifestyle has a direct impact on Canadians

JBen - I appreciate what you are saying but think of this - there have been many instances where one man with a gun changed the course of history - the First World War was started by one man with a gun - Kennedy was shot by one man with a gun and that changed everything - if Hitler was assassinated the whole world would be different - a hand full of armed men took over Cuba - in Egypt a guy with a gun changed the Middle East - don't underestimate the people if they have a way to fight - if a dictator tried to take over the U.S. he wouldn't last long - armed Americans are in essence a militia - unfortunately people are willing to give up their freedom for the sake of safety - give me liberty or give me death - a man with a gun is a free man - men have died so you can have freedom don't give it away so easily - a bad guy with a gun is stopped by a good guy with a gun - (roll of the drums)

In every one of those references, the world was worse off, after that one shot. Are you advocating for disarming everyone? Or only shooting certain people?

Hey joe Pa,
How about we imagine a world without guns, ever given that any thought.

Think China, or North Korea. Both countries don't allow firearms for citizens.
Imagine that...lol...
