So the "vaccine" doesn't stop you from getting it and spreading it but only reduces symptoms. At the same time areas where the "vaccine" is being rolled out are seeing a drop in cases. Think about that for a minute. If it doesn't preventing you from getting it and spreading it, the drop in cases must be from something else.
The vaccine evidently does prevent people from getting sick but not necessarily in all cases. None of the vaccines has a 100 percent efficacy rate so getting the virus and passing it along is still possible. Similarly people who get the flu shot sometimes still get the flu.

Yep, and they got a long way to go to catch up to the suicides. Perspective!

They don't get the strain they were vaccinated for. That's why people that are vaccinated for measles don't get the measles.

Well, I think until people get the 2nd shot, there won't be much easement of anything ... so we are talking September - November sometime before we can even think of the government letting off.

And yes, it seems getting the vaccination does not stop transmission ... so perhaps in a sense, it's worse, because MORE people will by asymptomatic ... and spread not knowing.

The real benefit I see is perhaps we can stop the generation of variants, once everyone has been vaccinated and our bodies are able to fight the virus off on their own.

Not sure ... but right now, all I see is this ultimate reliance on the vaccine fixing things ... and right now, I don't see things getting better, but worse from both a medical perspective (younger people getting sick, worse symptoms, etc) and a restriction of our freedom. I sense uncertainty and chaos are taking hold ... despite the hope that this vaccine will fix everything.

With over 800+ deaths a day for various medical reasons in Canada is the norm.
Add 20 more deaths.."linked to covid" a day and we still lockdown fully vaccinated people. Makes lots of sense to shutdown lockdown economy for 20, but nothing for the other 800+....What a joke

We will only end up with more vaccine resistant variants. Especially so when vaccines don't "sterilize" the virus.

Vaccines that target a variant will just create a scenario where that variant mutates to a version less recognizable to that vaccine (another variant).

Notice how we didn't hear about variants until we started vaccinating people?

    There's a reason we've never made a vaccine for a coronavirus before.

Sure. Viruses mutate. This one has and will. The flu has and will. The current COVID-19 vaccine ideally builds up resistance to the known variants just the same as the annual flu shot deals with the current strain of influenza. It won't be a surprise if the COVID-19 shot becomes an annual event as well.

Where's the study for that. They don't even know if the "vaccines" work past 6 months and now they help you build resistance to the variants? I am interested in reality, not big pharmas wish list.

The speed with which the vaccines were introduced means that the studies are being done in real time. The alternative was years of crippling lockdowns. The initial signs are positive. Reduced cases and deaths in Ontario LTC homes, cases coming down in the UK and parts of the U.S. for example. Perfection is the enemy of the good.

The dumb people are the ones who are obstinately refusing to take the vaccine regardless of the increasingly evident benefits.
