I will definitely travel to my turkey spot on the 25th. Only an hour away but fact is you are only penalizing yourself if you chose not to participate in your outdoors recreational hobby.

I was planning on heading out to the deer camp to put up some trail cameras and fish the Rainy River before the closure on the 14th but the stay at home order put the kybosh on that plan ☹️. Just doing my part to reduce the risk of COVID.

So if I go later, fishing season will be closed and the ticks will be out and I’ll get Lyme disease. At least it’s not contagious lol.

i mean you should be fine sam, as long as you're not in contact with anyone you arent breaking the rules. me and my dad went to check the cams and scout the property last week. took the dog for a run changed the cam cards. didnt have contact with anyone at all. land owner said he wouldn't be around anyways and we were good to go take a walk. chalk it up as exercise covid wont find you in the middle of timbuck2 by yourself

I was planning on going Camping as well, not sure now due to the fact wifes car is in the garage have to wait and see if fixed today as someone needs to drive are son to work on the weekend.

I call this a "lip service" lockdown and fully plan to get the boat ready,guns cleaned and turkey gear packed. If schools and golf courses are open,so is everything else. Just be smart about it,wear a mask if with others in close proximity,wash hands regularly and keep your distance. AFAIC,except for on-line sales ,delivery and remote pick-up,it's business as usual. The small businesses are again paying the freight for lockdowns. It's bullshyte and needs to stop.

In fact I would be breaking the rules by staying at the camp (secondary residence) for longer than 24 hours and less than 14 days. I have mixed feelings about this rule as it means that I can’t go, but it also means that city folks can’t go to their cottages. Along the same vein, I was on Lake of the Woods last summer and it was deathly quiet because of the border restrictions ( US citizens own a lot of property on the lake). In addition to reducing the spread of COVID, I’m sure that the border restriction saved a lot of fish.

I have been to my camp numerous times during the last year, not paying much attention to what version of lockdown were in. City cottagers have been doing the same. Stay home if it makes you feel better but most are not.

Stay at home is a way to limit contact with other people. Turkey hunting is the ultimate isolation activity. Up at 4:00AM drive 40min to laneway, get geared up, a nice 10-15min walk in and a sit under a nice tree to relax for 4-5hrs. My only change is that I will make my own coffee to go in the AM instead of stopping at Timmies and I will keep a thermos of coffee in my truck so when I am done for the day I can sit on my tailgate and enjoy a nice hot coffee instead of hitting another Timmies.

I was out at 3 of my farms yesterday putting put cameras and cleaning up some shooting lanes, and next weekend I will hit another couple of farms before opener. I really cannot see any issues with getting out to turkey hunt this spring.

I went for a run with the dog last weekend and downtown Burlington looked like there was a festival going on and it was quite obvious that these are not local residents. I highly doubt turkey hunters and guys out fishing are the problem.

Going to my cabin in a couple of weeks. No way in hell I'm staying home. I live on a farm already, so I'm already isolated. I was at my cabin 29 days last year and never saw a single person. Not going to stop going now. I live with an illness which could mean there might not be a next year for me, so if they want me to stay home they can kiss my . Not gonna give up a single day for it.
