I agree.......but in high school & college/University they need to have experience with on-line learning because in the real world it is NOT going away anytime soon. In the corporate world on-line training is rapidly replacing class room training at a rapid pace and removing it from the education system would be a big disservice to kids entering the industry.

Teachers need to get up to speed on the technology that is available and embrace it. The school boards need to cut loose the dinosaurs and bring in younger and more adapt teachers that can utilize these tools for the benefit of the kids. Chalk boards are going the way of the abacus - like it or not.

It is not just about the face to face but most importantly the social aspect of going to school.
Humans like to interact with one another. Body language is of the utmost importance in society.
The cancel culture is working very hard at eliminating that aspect of it and turn everyone into a mindless obedient zombie.
Kids belong in a school class environment and teachers unions need to stop whining and suck it up.

I disagree online learning has now been around for almost 15 years, have done many computer courses that way.

I agree not all can be taught online effectively like shop and cooking. But some can like math, English, french, social studies, health, biology etc.

I could see kids going in once or twice a week to do biology experiments, chemistry, shop. But for the most part many can be taight online. University and college have had online courses for at least 5 years now.

Ask almost any kid whether they like online learning, most would say, they do not.... Online learning for most adults is great, it just isn't that great for most kids.....

They had better get use to it as that is the way most Jobs will be going at least anything in computers. That is way the way most Universities and Colleges are going and most of the world. So you are suggesting we should strive to make sure they are not ready? Already our schools level of education is much less then it was 30 years ago.

Given the choice between online learning and going to school, my 3 grandkids would rather get on the bus and go to school. I'm sure a big part of wanting to learn in school is the social aspect of being around their peers.

Yes, they been at it for a couple of weeks.
Drives me crazy for them to think that I care about their self serving political views!

Yes, okay, sure............... and without face to face learning, it has gotten worse for most kids.
Those adds are just as annoying as the individuals that keep bashing teachers

Agreed. My kids prefer the online option right now because the alternative is masks all day.

The teachers unions need to be de-certified.

I did say some classes would still be in class and as others have said for the social part. But we are already showing that not as many teachers will be needed in the future. I could definetly see future pay cuts and at least 25% less teachers.
