Not sure what one has to do with the other. NWO vs. real estate? They price of houses in cottage country has also kept pace with GTA in fact some are claiming it as GTA now.

I do believe that most are running scared from large city covid restrictions thus creating a huge demand and shortage of rural properties.
Once the dust settles, they will realize they made a mistake and head back into town.
Many cons of maintaining a rural property. Not for everyone.
