Question about points required for wmu49i
Gentlemen
We are a camp in 49 that a hunter had 12 and another had11.We are a group of 7 and did not draw a tag .Just wondering how other gangs in 49 made out and if you don't mind could you tell me if you got a tag and what your numbers were.We will hope for tag out of the second chance. If groups do not want to share their success and numbers I understand
Stay safe

If you check Page 69 of this years Summary,it'll give you a good idea of how many tags are available for the WMU you want to hunt. WMU 49 is almost identical to WMU 50 where we have our camp. Very few tags arde available for those areas no matter how many points hunters have. We have 10 guys in our camp, everyone applied in all three categories with points ranging from 7 (me) to 16 (five). No one drew a tag.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

No bull tag with 13 points (3 guys at that number). So that means the required number was above 13. Of course, no one had any way of knowing that
We did get 4 calf tags though. One guy had 10 points. I am unsure on the rest, but I think no less then 8. We have claimed 2 of them and will decline the other 2
For your camp - With the new system, if the guy at 12 points didnt draw a bull, then the guy at 11 would not either. The guy with 11 was basically a wasted application (along with anyone else who applied for a bull with less then 12). If he had applied for a calf he would have drawn (as shown by the guy in my camp who drew a calf with 10 points). As all the calf tags were drawn in the first draw, the 2nd and third choices in the primary draw were irrelevant.

3 Guys in our group with 14 , 11 and 9 points all applied for cow/calf tags in 27 . I received a tag (which I'll decline ) and the Guy with 9 points got a cow/calf tag ( which he will except ) ...beings it's the first year for the new system I'm sure there is flaws ... I hoping that it's a matter of using the wrong hunt codes .... but I will be checking into it .

Next year we should see some data that will shed some light on the process...

If the threshold was say 6 points it makes sense you both got tags. The guy in middle may have had an error, as you say.

We were 0-10 in our group, our top 3 point holders were 24-8-7 which went for adult tags and the rest had between 1-5 points they went for calf. If we are unsuccessful in the 2nd allocation we are still going up to do some bear, wolf, and grouse hunting that week!

Wow, 24 points and no adult tag I never thought there would be that many guys with 24 plus points.
I drew a archery bull in 49 with 19 points.
