Boat Battery
I am looking for a new boat battery. It will be running a 150 Merc, Helix 7 and the livewell aerator. Any sugggestions are greatly appreciated. I quickly took a look at Canadian Tire and was thinking about the Motomaster Nautilus Extreme AGM group size 27, any thoughts or experiences with them.
I was out fishing and my boat went dead after about 1.5 hours on the lake just using my fishfinder and aerator. Had the battery hooked up to the charger since 7 this morning and noticed now that gauge on the charger goes from about 60% to 100 %, stays at 100% for about 3 seconds and goes back down to 60%. I am thinking that the battery will not take a charge.

Stay away from Canadian Tire Batteries junk only last a few years. MagnaBatteries have decent batteries for same price. Side note you may want to run another battery in parallels with isolation switch for reliability.
Just my two cents.

over the years I've had the best luck with Interstate. But I run 2 batteries, a starting battery for the main motor that nothing else uses and a starting/deep cycle battery for all my electronics.

I agree this is the best set-up. This way you do not need to match batteries (because they are not wiring them in parallel). Just get a three position dual battery isolation switch and mount it under the helm beside your batteries.

I have 5 motor boats and depend on Costco kirkland batteries as the best value and length of service. My bass boats have 4 or 5 batteries each. I always reserve one battery as just the starting battery. The 2nd battery is the house battery for fish finders, gps and lights. Then of course two for the 24 volt bow mount trolling motors.
