    Hey Guys,

Quick question. I am buying a 2021 Honda Rubicon Deluxe from a guy in Parry Sound. Is there anyway to check if there are any liens on the vehicle?

    Thanks,

Your buying a privately owned brand new ATV? I think you can take the ownership or a copy to the ministry and they will check. Buying a used 2021 which is literally months old I would want to check this out.

That is a great idea. The guy sent me the copy of the ownership so it looks good. I will take a ride to the Service Ontario tomorrow and see if I can see if it has a lien on it.

Google will give you websites to check for liens. They might cost a couple of bucks, but,it's well worth it. Police will tell if it's stolen if you give them the VIN. You need to be wary why someone would be selling a new machine privately. Maybe he bought it,then, lost a job,who knows, but, you sure need to. Good luck.

Had that happen with a motorcycle I bought in my late 20's.....year after I bought it I got a call stating I owed 10k......I luckily still had buddy's contact.....with a few well descriptive messages on the family phone line, it was paid in full with a few days.......you definitely don't want added to your daily stresses
    This isn't a test run................Enjoy er'.......

I just did a CarFax check on it and came back with no liens. When I talked to the guy he said he sold or his selling his house and no longer needs for it plowing. I double checked his address and sure enough the house for sale two months ago so I think its legit. It has 25km on it.

I think another way to check would be to go to a honda dealer and have them run the serial number. But that might only work if he financed it through Honda?

I went to Service Ontario and got a UVIP. It says no liens so I am good to go. Someone asked if I got a great deal. Not really but its the colour I like and has all the features I want and essentially brand new. It has 25kms. Its roughly $750 less than a brand new one with all the features I want but no plow. This one has all the features I want but it also has a Honda Plow (1400$ value) which I will use one day when I get a cottage. So I guess its about 2K less than a brand new one if I was buying with a plow.
